Thanks again I’ve been waiting for this one! To date this is my favourite duet of theirs BUT 1. There isn’t a video for their “ Pie Jesu” and, 2. just yesterday they released “Mary did you know” which is spectacular!

Lucy and Martha knew they got it perfectly right. You can see that. We all know Lucy and Martha are never going for the easy solution when they take a song on: it will always be a version which leaves us impressed. And luckely for us they are singing duets till this day, improving with every one. I wonder if Martha will ever take a solo song on. But that of course is a decision she has to make for herself. For now we have two wonderful singing sisters and Lucy is the solo singer. And Lucy is going straight forward: in March 2024 she will have her first concert, in Manchester (UK).

I would love to be able to see that concert, but just don't think it'll be possible. I'm going to try and hopefully make it to see Rosie next year tho. To be able to see Lucy sing in person would be an incredible experience!! I wish they would video tape the concert and offer it for sale as a CD, I would buy it in a second!

Hi Juliet...Thank you for a great reaction. I agree with the many of those commenting here who have expressed feelings about your reaction and this incredibly gorgeous and amazing duet by Lucy and Martha. These two sisters are absolutely phenomenal! That being said, I also agree with the many here that recommend that you really must (if possible) react to Lucy and Martha's version of "Mary Did You Know". They have both progressed a lot since this "O Holy Night" video to a point where the new video is astonishing!! It would be a shame to have to wait for your reaction until next year.

Great reaction Julliet. They really knocked this one out of the Park ,this was my favourite until I heard Pie Jesu and now Lucy has just released another Christmas song another duet with Martha "Mary Did You Know" And this is brilliant .You talk about Lucy´s belt here wait until you hear this new one unbelievable .And Martha has also got more maturity in her voice .Looks like we will have to wait for Pie Jesu .I am glad you enjoyed this one Thanks for you continuing Support of Lucy & Martha merry Christmas.

Juliet, it is not really fair to the other performers to play Lucy and Martha first. That is a bar too high for anyone else to reach. 😁 I thought that Lucy and Martha's version of O Holy Knight was the most beautiful and powerful Christmas song that I had ever heard. Then yesterday they released Mary Did You Know. I actually broke down and cried when I listened to it. I join many others who say that you just have to react to this song before Christmas is over. Just love how they’ve given us all a glimpse into the love their family has for each other. It’s vulnerable on their part and I’m thankful. Thanks for another good analysis, especially the waves. 👍 Merry Christmas. 🎅🎄 This is just the best version and the harmonies are so divine. It’s on my Christmas playlist. I find this song inspiring and uplifting, but the song that has reduced grown men (I included) to tears is ‘You Raise Me Up’, so prepare yourself if you react to that one. Difficult to keep up, as you will undoubtable know another new spectacular Christmas song from Lucy and Martha dropped yesterday - ‘Mary Did You Know’. More spectacular harmonies but a good song to compare Martha now.

Lucy IS first fiddle but little Martha is a very close second fiddle. After all, Lucy is over 5 years ahead of Martha in development and maturity and there is obviously no sibling rivalry going on. Martha usually has the much more complicated harmony parts that she invariably aces. What I find most charming is the loving interaction between between the sisters throughout the song, subtle looks, a smile here, a smile here and there, and especially handshake and grin at the end...

Watching the girls do this song for the umpteenth time I was struck by the notion that where Lucy performs the song with passion and feeling ( as all great singers do ) Martha performs the song as though she was living it. My favorite Lucy and Martha song is When You Believe from the Prince of Egypt! Their harmonies are as good in this song as in that one. I just love these 2 girls. They are so talented together. Lucy is amazing and I believe Martha is right up there with Lucy. I am hoping to someday hear a solo from Martha but right now I think Lucy is in the spotlight. Together they are simply AMAZING!

Jullier - Wonderful analysis, as always, but now you must check out this sister’s duet on Pia Jesu on Lucy’s new Album. It’s currently just an audio, but I assume a video will follow. They are two years older than they were on this performance, and their voices were almost beyond imagining. I would add, that these are all Chris Broom productions, which brings out the beauty of their voices.

Juliet, 2023 - the year I discovered Lucy and Martha Thomas, Ren and YOSC! Not a bad year at all - at least on RU-vid 🙂 Thank you for an enjoyable year of appreciation and discovery in the realm of song - from sublime, ethereal beauty to the emotional rollercoasters; from dark Gothic to the fun and funky. Like a female Gandalf, you have been my guide, imparting words of wisdom and knowledge at every step of the way, deepening my understanding and appreciation of the art of singing - all delivered with your warm, engaging and enthusiastic charisma. More importantly, you deserve great credit for your encouragement and support of young aspiring artists from all round the world. Just revisited - wrong season, have to do it again next December, but what is (and has always been) striking is their clear enunciation of every word. Always, in all their songs. This is possibly part of what makes them special, the lyrics hit home! The Thomas sisters always deliver lyrics that are clear, crisp and to the point. No muddling pronunciation there! This is also what makes Angelina Jordan special, her English lyrics are crystal clear and understandable, but English is NOT her first language, Norwegian is! Her Grandmother is Iranian so she will me conversant in Farsi, her grandfather was Japanese, she is likely NOT lost in that language either!

Hi Julliet you mentioned Marth´s pronunciation .Its her Lancastrian accent they always pronounce the hard G at the end of the word eg sinGinG. If you watch Lucy´s Run To You she speaks at the end you can get an idea of her accent. Their accents are not as strong as some.

Haha 😄 Wiganers have a language of our own. It’s slowly dying out which is a good thing, because outside Wigan region people would have difficulty understanding. Even so with correct pronunciation there remains a thick strong accent, so others can recognise where we are from. Which is the same for Liverpool and other regions. Lucy does have a Wigan accent much more so than her mother, not that you can hear it in her singing, but nothing wrong it that anyway. It’s our identity. I chatted with Wilbur a couple days ago and he said his 'silencing' is over early January. I too hope he gets back - his comments are so informative.

@@bruceobrown534 Yes thanks Bruce. it is hard not to comment but I am sticking to my guns, and yes I am watching the video and you may see a No Comment or a +++++ 5 star just to show I was there!!! and keeping count of the reaction to Mary did you know now at 18.

@@georgegliszczynski8576 NO I was banned from commenting on Lucys Facebook Fan page because "robbie" did not like my "Opinion" then he shut me off that I cannot even get on the site !!!! Sooo it was my choice to stop ALL commenting and requesting reaction on Lucys music, he doesn't want my comments he does not get my support and promotion, and the irony is since the banning I have recieved the top 10% commenter Badge, And another "reward" title pertained to commenting. that I really thought "ironic", supposible the 5th of Jan the Ban will be over, we will see !!!! He wanted me to retract my opinion and be bullied into HIS thoughts, and I find it REALLY ironic after ALL the promotions and requesting I have done, Hell Layman has thanked me several times by name for request and KingO mention me by name for the dedication on Bridge over troubled waters for keeping track of how many reactors had reacted and he also mentioned Colinhea also. He can only stop my commenting on Lucy's facebook fan Page, I can still get on her Facebook page but only a lot of pictures there little commenting and he has no control here on you tube, my choice not to support or request, we will see what happens on Jan 5th.
