4 years ago, I had an Uber driver who was telling me about his daughter, a musician on tour, and he was speaking very highly of her while Billie was playing on the car stereo. Mind you, it was 5 in the morning and I was heading towards LAX. The driver told me that his daughter's name was Lucy Dacus, and he got me into her music. I called his bluff--I know that in LA everyone wants to know everyone, and he wasn't in any of her photos, though oddly enough he did somewhat look like her. I don't know their family story, but it was because of this apparent 'father' that he got me into Lucy's music.

The question about religion and spirituality was really beautiful. I'm sorry if it was uncomfortable for her to answer that but I'm glad both of them were able to tackle the subject with nuance and empathy.

Like how Fantano was respectful of the Boy Genius question, since she's out here promoting her solo.

This is probably one of the most enjoyable interviews. Even her interviews are slept on.
