Also the chest that has the gum gum fruit it has the marine logo so, the marines were delivering the fruit to the world government because that fruit has been always escaping from the world government

In real life if (which is the live action) if you use "you dubass" Luffy or a child might only feel belittled rather than feeling the heaviness of the mistake of what he had done. So "what have you done." is a good approach in this scene highlighting the "grave mistake" he made.

@@haninaction2754 no they don't beat him. They can't do that in live action since the beating he gets in the anime is just for gag and exaggeration of the anime. We Asians do it in real life tbh but not to what Luffy gets, just a simple hit, tap or jab on the arm, head, side of the body and tummy, that we know the force is not fatal. In the anime they exaggerate the "beating" to make it funny for the younger audience.

@@akodaah13-e32 MASSIVE SPOILERS SERIOUSLY, CHAPTER 1040+, EPISODE 1071+ In chapter 1044, it's revealed that Luffy's Devil Fruit isn't what we thought. It is the Gum Gum Fruit, but it's more well-known throughout history as the Hito Hito no Mi (Human Human Fruit), Model: Nika. Nika is the sun god worshiped by slaves, and is known as the Warrior of Liberation. He was the most free being to ever exist, to the point that his body took on rubber properties to allow him to fight with complete freedom. Nika is basically the hero of all people who have been subjugated or oppressed in the world, and they still tell stories of the day that Nika will return and free everyone. Another person presumably had eaten this Devil Fruit in the past (from dialogue from a figure who once knew him and recognized the sound of his heartbeat as Luffy awakened the power), and became known as the figure Joyboy, who was erased from history by the World Government. Basically, it seems the fruit has a sort of sentience and chooses people it deems suitable to have its power, in order for the fruit to escape the grasp of the World Government. It has escaped them for 800 years, and Luffy was probably not even close to the first person to have this power, but the rest up until him have faded into history because they were unable to awaken it to its true potential and become the next coming of Joyboy. Luffy is the first that we know of since Joyboy who has done it.

matt owens (showrunner) is up to date with the manga and the anime from what i know. iñaki’s past water 7/enies lobby now but i forgot the exact arc he’s currently reading. emily is up to date with the anime. majority of the crew are also one piece fans in one way or the other.

sonya belousova (composer for he show) said getting the licensing rights for we are and binks’ sake was pretty difficult and tedious because toei was keeping it in a tight grip and they were very, very strict. it’s a miracle they managed to get clearance and approval for those two pieces in the series, so adding the drums of liberation would be equally hard to get the rights to. fingers crossed toei’s gonna be more lax for the upcoming seasons so we can hear some of the iconic pieces!
