I've watched this scene dozens of times. You pointing out he said the drinks tasted bad at first and then at the end of his interaction with thr crew he said they tasted good. You're sharp.
Luffy isnt fighting back because the fight isn't worth it the man have no beliefs or dreams the same way with Shanks when he ain't fight until Luffy was in danger
Luffy did what Shanks did to the mountain bandits back at his hometown (he did not fight back). Luffy did not fight back because Luffy has no reason to do so because Bellamy is not going against Luffy and Zoro’s dreams due to Bellamy and his gang not having a dream of their own or given up believing in dreams; in addition, Luffy and Zoro did not fight back because Bellamy is not hurting Luffy’s friends.👌👍
Thanks for the great reaction Ohkaty! Really love these episodes, especially since it sets up so much for the future. I definately agree with you that the reason that they didnt fight back was that they have nothing to prove to Bellamy and the whole bar. Theyre just people without a dream thinking theyre better than everyone else, not worth acknowledging or getting down to their level. Also i forgot that Nami also stood up to them too, honestly what a great scene!
That scene was very reminiscent of Shanks laughing off the mountain bandits in the bar, when Luffy was little. Nami had the same attitude as little Luffy at the time ..."why do you let them hit you, do you have no pride as a pirate?", and grown Luffy reacted as Shanks did
It's funny how Oda builds the scene of the man who eats his cherries. Indicating to Nami that there will always be people around you who make fun of what you do, however, let them and continue moving forward. It also places people around laughing. What a magnificent scene. PD: Second phrase that I still remember to this day. "People's dreams never end." The first was: When do you think a person really dies? "A person dies when he is forgotten" The third one is coming up and I really like it too ♥
Jaya is such an interesting island, so many characters and ideals introduced. Your gonna look back on Jaya one day and be like...GAWD DANG, Jaya was insane. Also...I am absolutely hype to see your reaction to the inevitable clash of Bellamy vs. Luffy...one of my favorite epic..."fights"...in the series

If you stay respectfully at the episodes she already watched its fine but if you set expectations like this for future stuff it could ruin the moment a bit. There is just many people who can't control their excitement and foreshadow their favorite moments
Luffy refused to fight Bellamy because as soon as he heard him talk about not following your dreams Luffy thought it wasn't worth it. What makes this even crazier is that Bellamy's bounty is 55 mil while Luffy is associated with the number 56 due to him having the Gomu Gomu Devil Fruit. Go (5) Mu (6) basically saying Bellamy was already below Luffy from the start.
There's a miss-translation. Aces says, "Do you guys know my old man (like father)?". Those Masira Pirates were calling for their boss in the next scene.
The hardest part of the fight with Bellamy for me was Luffy and Zoro being cut up, and Bellamy spitting alcohol on them both. That must have burned so damn much.
Forget the people who's laughing at your dream. As One Piece told us, they don't deserve it. Only those who aim high, makes their dream come true. One Piece is the G.O.A.T.
Luffy uses fighting as a way to "debate" two confronting ideals. He doesn't fight someone who does not have any dream, there's nothing to "discuss" with someone like that. I mean if the guy tried to actually kill them or murder Nami he would still fight of course but those guys are too weak to actually threaten him or Zoro.
i love that luffy learned from shanks, that you dont't need to rage just because of a spilled drink ^^ it's really a thing a lot people should learn from :/. But this special One Piece faces always make me laugh XD
@OPJetfire Glad to know that letting other people know about how others will feel is spoiling. Next time when I tell my friends "man, that movie sucked" they will take my word for it instead of watching it themselves.
