Japan dub featuring Mayumi Tanaka the original anime VA Luffy get beaten by his grandfather. Luffy unleash gomu gomu no rocket against Monkey D Garp. #luffy #onepiece #netflix
@@JR-pu9bnAllies on Garp's side: Saint Figarland (not confirmed but implied) Roger, Silvers Rayleigh, Bogard, Maybe Scopper Gaban. Allies on Rocks side: Edward Newgate, Charlotte Linlin, Kaido, Golden Lion Shiki, Gloriosa, The original Stussy, Silver Axe and Ochoko. It was more than fair, and if you say that roger and garp double teamed rocks then who the hell took care of the rest of em? Did Garling just solo all of them? Garling, Rayleigh, Boggard and Gaban arent taking all of rocks pirates except their captain down, and if rocks is strong enough for both roger and garp to team on him then he is somehow the strongest person to ever live? That just doesn't make sense. I think he probably was yonko level and had the dark fruit, and roger and garp just didnt have fruits to be disabled, so he got destroyed by them both or fairly beaten by just one while the other focused on whitebeard or shiki.
Yeah during the live of one piece day 2023 (day2) the VA's on the stage released the trailer (world premiere) at the end on july (then it was uploaded on youtube) they announced that they will dub the jp version (you can still see the streaming on the official japanese one piece youtube channel) w
Hearing Luffy, Roger, and Garps laughs just puts a big fat smile on my face especially in Japanese dub hearing all 3 of these GOATS in an adaptation like this makes me so happy🥹
@@GriemmyLuffy seems a bit more masculine here thats probably why the voice is deeper I know original luffy is more masculine in fights but its not consistent
The cast acknowledged (in a Netflix interview) that there are some things that they had to change about their approach in order to match actors on screen. Tanaka _did_ say that she had to keep her voice just a tad bit lower to make it less jarring to viewers.
People who are fans of One Piece know that this is East Blue-Luffy against the man that cornered Gol D. Roger several times. Only after Wano Luffy is starting to be near Garp's level.
I don't know why, but when I saw the scene of Luffy laughing like Roger and Garp joining in, I initially thought it eluded to the will of D. Pretty good scene overall.
@@sakanasacanayes, but this scene was never in the manga or the anime. The commenter is praising netflix for correctly portraying garp, despite making up their own scene.
As an american, it was awesome hearing this in the original actors voices. I actually watched the whole series twice. Once in english then once in japanese.😂🤣👍
K looks like I'm rewatching all 8 episodes in Japanese now. Did NOT realize they we're using the original Japanese voice actors. Glad I saw it in it's original format but this is givin me chills.
Well I'm super disappointed. Looks like Netflix isn't offering the Japanese audio in America which makes no frickin sense considering they have 2 types of Chinese , French and Italian. Guess they had to drop the ball somewhere. They HAD to know hardcore American fans would want to watch it this way.

@EmikoZue you in America? Because the only ones I have available are English(cc), Spanish, Frenchq, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Spanish (cc), French (cc) for subtitles And for audio it's English- Audio Description, English [original], French, German, Italian, Spanish.
I'd argue that this scene doesn't happen at all in the manga, it's similar to the water 7 meeting yes, but still totally different. Water 7 was no more than a petty squabble while this is luffy is trying to fight garp and gain some sort of approval to continue pirating, while he didn't need to do anything after breaking into enis lobby
@@HellecticMojo so you weren't constantly comparing with what the live action was doing compared to the manga? I wasn't even doing it in a negative way, I just thought it was interesting to see what was kept and thrown out for the live action speed run
Hot damn. The japanese voice acting is amazing over the live action. Absolute great adaptation and a great way to show my friends such a long show in such a satisfying bite sized way.
😭😭 you don't understand the language. How are you comparing the voice acting ability when you don't even understand one of the languages you are making the comparison between
Hearing the more subtle vocal performances from the Japanese actors was so interesting. You're used to the bombastic and loud line delivery from Luffy, but in the live action his voice is more subdued, and I kind of like that.
As someone who watches the sub version of the anime and watched the live action in English, I gotta say - the Japanese makes it sound way more authentic tic and believable. I said to my sister that Oda had the opportunity to see what his characters would look like in real life while still knowing the Japanese VAs would be able to bring that perfect edge and heart to the dialogue that the anime has.
I love Garp, he is such a better father to luffy than dragon . Sure he beats him to a pulp but he knows luffy can take the hits, its tough love . I think he has no other option than to allow luffy to chase his dream like his best friend roger did
I kinda wish they got Mackenyu to voice somebody in Japanese. Anyone unimportant but still would make for a fun easter egg. Like maybe Fullbody or the pirate he was arguing with in the Baratie
Is it safe to say that the reasom Garp let Luffy go in this is.. he knows Luffy is gonna be better Pirate King. Given on how their adventures, they end up helping people. 🤣
You're overthinking it. He still doesn't want Luffy to be a pirate let alone expect him to become the King of Pirates. He just learned to accept that he won't be able to stop Luffy from chasing his dream.
this is honestly the most surreal but cool one piece content, we have reached an age where instead of having a funny but cool english dub were getting a japanese dub with the original voice actors, I hope they do some more voice acting for the live action in the future
