Luge St. Moritz POV 

GoPro...480p ?? WHAT ??

I always wondered how they cut and merge the Luge start with the famous Bob/Skeleton run each and every year at St. Moritz. I heard the track is cut and formed differently from year to year, which in turn, track records are only kept seasonally and reset the next season. St. Moritz is still the only active natural track on the FIL World Cup Luge tour and the IBSF World Cup Bobsled and Skeleton tour. The other major natural World Cup track was in Cervinia, Italy, but was discontinued

But we are timed to the thousandth of a second, and skeleton isn't. Also, luge requires much more subtle and precise driving than skeleton, not the big, exaggerated feet drags they do. And in skeleton, they get to see the entire way down. In luge, you have to feel your way down, because looking slows you down.

Looks like the run took about 70 seconds. At 1700 meters, that's an average speed of 87 kph (around 54 mph).
