Gotta give props to the professionalism of the British play-by-play announcer; that goal had to have killed him inside but he acknowledged the greatness of the player and the moment.
@@michaellaviola3125 That's right, very difficult to see in this video but the Uruguayan headed it first, then it skimmed off the head of the Brit. I'm amazed the line judge was able to see it and make the right call.
2012-2017 Luis Suarez was just insane. I mean, he’s continued to be excellent in any league he’s played in til now but his peak form was just pure scorer.
@@Dan-lg4bs nah mate in football the winners are always the once hated, just like United and now City, you guys must've been really annoying for fans worldwide to hate you despite not winning anything.🤔
@kenthankgod2619 unfortunately we're the scapegoat for annoying fans. Despite there being worse fans out there, and despite our actual team being decent blokes, the stereotype of an "evil" team always falls onto us lol
They lost to the Jabulani ball, that first goal by Bronkhorst on the semis versus the Netherlands should never have happened, it was one of the very weird goals of the 2010 world cup that only happened due to the horrible ball that was used.
The fact that Suarez did it after rushing back early from surgery, and basically eliminated England playing on 1 leg = to me one of the most iconic moments in World Cup history; on par with Maradona’s 1986 performance vs. England
@@JamesRodriguez10783 Fun fact, Higuain technically was born in France. But was eligible to represent Argentina due to his parents' heritage being Argentine.
Often regarded by many as one of the best strikers of all time Suárez is a prolific goal scorer, having the rare distinction of being the leading scorer in three top-flight European leagues, a feat only matched by Ruud van Nistelrooyand Cristiano Ronaldo.
@@whoppers2 went to fifa website to look for the exact moment in the full match, there are no further replays wiith other cameras. They used to do that in times before he VAR, so as no to expose wrong calls. For me it was offside too
@@guillermoe2246 Attempting to play the ball is not the same as actually playing the ball to a teammate. You are incorrect in the application of the Law.
2014 WC had 2 groups of death if you remember. Portugal got knocked out of the tournament in the GS along with Ghana, while the US went on the the R16 along with the eventual WC winners Germany who won that group
Diego Forlan to me was the player that caught my attention after Messi. What a player. Suarez is a lethal striker. His finishing ability is beyond par.
@@unamor Nómbra los 5 mejores Uruguayos que Luisito por favor? Dudo mucho que sean 5, yo lo tengo top pero tampoco no conozco bien toda la historia del jugador Uruguayo
I just checked the replay a few times (and then saw your comment). Joe Hart dives in anticipation before the shot has been struck. Suarez has literally belted the ball straight at the keeper. If Joe Hart didn't dive & instead stood his ground, the shot would have been straight at him.
For everyone saying its offside : Steven Gerrard touched the ball which allowed Luis Suárez to take advantage and score the goal. Cavani did not touch.
Did the goalie's punt not touch the head of the 1st attacker at all? Because Suarez was in an offside position when it came off one or both of the heads of the first challenge...
this goal would've not be given in today's football. hopefully new offside rules change that and allow for more chicken skin-inducing plays like this one. Where great players shine.
@@mariox7918Yes but on modern football, cavani took direct part on the play, so according to the "Law 11-2: A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched* by a team-mate is only penalised on *becoming involved in active play by*: (in this case) *making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball.*"
Nah, it clearly bounced off the teammate, and he was 1m offside, it's clearly visible. One can stop the video exactly(ish) when the ball is on the head of that other guy and it's a huge offside.
