Apart from his controversies and explicit actions on the field. Just look at suarez’s expression while celebrating both the goals. He loves uruguay more than his life.
Lmao not the shoe😂 but yes he did win the boot for Barcelona and reach top gol scorer for Uruguay which is incredible to do being we have the most south american titles ever..
@@carlosanti7726 he was top goal scorer in EPL by a whole 10 goals so get your facts right, and right below him that season was another Liverpool player Sturridge (SAS). Unbelievable how Liverpool didn't win the league.
@@David.L291 a great players remains a great player, no matter what he does, and don’t act like you’re better, like you never make mistakes, atleast he is a global star, not like you, a pathetic loser that nobody wants too know
Suarez is the player that scored more goals for Uruguay, but he only won 1 copa américa with Uruguay. We had players that won world cups with Uruguay. Suarez is one of the greats but is not a legend
@@benp2022 they didn't celebrate Uruguay's Victory cuz they hate England, but because most South Americans are like "brothers" and they expect south American teams to win. Ofc, that's most of the time, but not always
This match was a separate narrative apart from the World Cup. I think it's one of the greatest stories ever seen in football (really, sports) history. The whole world wanted to see the climactic chapter in the Luis Suarez vs. England saga that had been happening for 3 years at that point. Years of abuse from the media; almost on an unprecedented level. To see Luis Suarez come back from a near impossible injury to actually knock England out of the World Cup. I consider this one of the greatest moments in World Cup history for sure. If someone made a movie out of it, people would scoff that it's too cheesy. PS. This doesn't even consider the awesome historic context of this match. England, the inventors of football vs. Uruguay, the first ever World champions. 2 iconic football cultures. It was like the son facing the father.
'Years of abuse from the media' makes it sound like they were hounding him for no reason. He bit 3 people, racially abused a player and hand balled it off the line in the 122nd minute and shamelessly celebrated when his team won. I'm no fan of the British press but come on.
These were Uruguays best moments of world cup. Same applies with wc 2010. Only diego forlan was missing. But it was a fantastic team. Arguably one of the best squads of uruguay
Say what you will about him but Suarez was unstoppable that year. He came back from a very bad knee injury to score those 2 fantastic goals against England and then calamity struck in the next game with his foolish actions. I firmly believe if Suarez had continued playing in the WC Uruguay would have made it to the final.
Me too. But Uruguay had awfully bad luck in the last world cups. In 2010 in the game against Ghana Lodeiro and Lugano were injured and couldn't play against Holland and Forlan was at %50 physically and was substituted. In 2014 Suarez couldn't help his psychological issues and was kicked out of the WC. In 2018 Cavani was injured in the game against Portugal and couldn't play against France. Now, before WC 2022 even started Araujo is out of the WC because of an injury
@@charrua007 That's why it's very important to have "depth" in the squad. If you rely too much on certain players you'll eventually run into problems they get injured or have performance "issues".
🇺🇾🇺🇾🇺🇾 Winning a game for your country is the most emotional thing vamosss uruguay nomasss....!!!! Great match makes me cry everytime i watch it. But well done England also for a great time 🤙what would make my life even happier is to see my country win the cup once again vamos locos a la copa 🧉🏆
I dont know how are you (sorry for my english) I'm from Montevideo Uruguay and i just want to say thank u for ur coment here in Uruguay. We just 3million people and we love football and mate 😂 thanks for recognise us !! 👊💪🏻👊💪🏻👊
Two of my back grounds are England and Uruguay and even though I live in Canada and speak mainly English I still love Uruguay’s team more the England’s team. Some ting about that blue and white just makes me happy! I love seeing my Abuela’s love for Uruguay soccer
1:17 the English have a passionate way of celebrating their goals, I'm Brazilian and I miss this cup! the guys are madly in love with their selection, it's like the last celebration of their lives, all together.
Saludoss
If anyone watching in 2020, do you guys notice how in this match cavani passed the ball so suarez can header and score, in the 2018 world cup, suarez passed the ball to cavani and he headerd the balll and scored, and the both got 2 goals in eatch match
Quanta qualidade...
Gerrard is the master at helping opposing strikers: Euro 2004: wonderful pass to Thierry Henry, France win 2-1 Premier League 2014: wonderful slip to let Demba Ba score, Chelsea win 2-0 World Cup 2014: wonderful pass to Luis Suarez, Uruguay win 2-1 A true legend
What makes Suarezs performance even more incredible was that he had knee surgery just 3 weeks before this game. He could barely run but he still ripped those defenders to shreds.
One of the Greatest Triumphs of Uruguay's Golden Generation... alongside with the matches against Ghana in 2010, Argentina2011, Italy 2014 and Portugal 2018
Suarez and Uruguay the biggest World Cup villains, beating South Africa at home 3-0 , beating Russia at home, knocking out Ghana, England , Portugal , all fan favs
BOTH TEAM PLAYERS ,PLAYED POWERFUL, STAMINA FULL, PRACTICE FULL, TECHNICAL FULL, STRONG FULL, ENERGY FULL GAME............ SOME ONCE IS EXTRAORDINARY AND SOME ONCE IS SUPER EXTRAORDINARY......... IN THIS SITUATION, WINER IS WONDERFUL............
MultiNoNamex -- Or because that statement is complete b.s and its not always gerrard. All players have made a few big mistakes in the span of their career. It doesnt cancel out their achievements. You can nitpick to try and make any player seem bad by focusing on the negatives. Gerrard has singlehandedly brought many games back to life that Liverpool were on the verge of losing through tenacity and skill. He's the biggest reason for the 2005 champions league going how it went. He was an absolutely world class player and deserved all the praise he received.
Alex F....well Gerards mistakes were slightly bigger than others. Infact unforgivable... The slip to give Chelsea the title, and this 'assist' to Suarez to knock England out of the world cup in the first round... to name but a few !
As Rooney and England fan from southeast asia, i stay up late to watch this game. When Rooney finally scored his world Cup goal, it was a joy and satisfaction for me. Watching him got so many chances but luck denied him. He maybe not an England greatest at the World Cup but for what he had done for his country, he deserves a world cup goal. LIVING LEGEND, REMEMBER THE NAME, WAYNE ROONEY
these two matches Uruguay played against England and Italy was a beautiful to watch both needed draws and still could not stop a Uruguay victory not even Italy
