One thing that doesn’t get mentioned enough about the mavs is even when they aren’t getting three pointers Luka and Kyrie often get 3 point plays from and 1’s and those plays made a huge impact in this game
As a lifelong Mavs fan this team has been my favorite ever to watch. Whatever happens, I’m just happy to have multiple guys on our team with a future, and they all have so much heart.
I still have the 2011 team in front. So many great vets (Dirk, Terry, Kidd, Marion, Peja aso) who worked their entire careers to win it all... But this team is rapidly closing the gap. IF they go all the way, this could easily be the best Mavs team ever, cause they are also young enough (Luka/Gafford/Washington/Green/Hardy/Lively all 25 or younger, noone older then 32) to repeat it!
@@Smido83 Yeah I can definitely understand that, I was too young on my basketball knowledge to fully appreciate that team, and I started paying attention more around 2012-2013. Because of that I’ve pretty much just remembered the years where they kept swearing they’d get Dirk back on the mountain top. So much to look forward to no matter how it breaks, but as a Dallas fan I always just expect the worst and hope I’m wrong.

"2011 Dallas Mavericks Road to The NBA Finals" I highly reccomend that video, it is just perfect. Fans should know their teams past to be able to fully appreciate the present and future!

As an okc fan, I believe the best course to guard dallas is what they did. U can live with Washington and lively and dj beating you because if that happens there isn’t much you can do. Luka and kurie are special and if u guard them like this, its just not gonna work
As a mavs fan I think you can let Djj and PJ beat you cuz they aren't gonna hit those every time. DLive can be different though fr he's got a promising future
Aye P I remember when you was talking about how the mavericks were gonna be one of if not the scariest team coming into the playoffs and many didn’t agree or said they were gonna get spanked coming in and now look where there at and how well rounded and balanced their roster is. Keep it up mane 🫡
I saw some frustrations from the Mavs that I think can improve. They settled for Kyle Anderson getting 11 points, he averaged 2.7 points in the other series. Hardaway didn’t put up a shot in 10 minutes. He should look to be more of a threat on the offensive side. Gafford didn’t have a great game but managed to help on the rebounds.
This series I see it going 6 or 7 games it’s going to be a chess match and I’m intrigued to see what adjustments the wolves make in game 2. Watching kyrie in the 1st half go off then luka takeover in the 4th scoring 15 points and making great plays defensively was incredible to witness.
What’s your opinion on Luka’s paint touches to facilitate offense versus hunting the iso because no one besides naz/KAT seems strong enough to hang tight on him? The paint touches obviously help others find their shots but Luka and Kyrie seem like it’s no answer for them from such an elite defense.
Like your vids. One thing may be to take note from Kenny as he did a similar vid that was under 10 minutes. I dont think i got the time to listen to the whole thing but love your point of view.
I think PJ has to slide to the corner more, he is just way better shooting down there, I also think he did a great job on KAT but him and lively can switch on screens so that KAT doesnt get those open threes. Lastly Abuse the conley matchup more.
Actually he is not... he shot under 30% on corner 3's in the reg season, around 35% on wing and top of the key 3's. This PO he just turned it for some reason and switched completely. Its actually pretty crazy what role the mind can play... it feels as if he cant miss that left corner 3 anymore, and cant hit a wing 3 even if noone is even trying to defend him.
Mavs can go all the way, I'm so sure this year, maybe in game 7, maybe the last second shot, but the answer is YES.I watch this brotherhood last 3 month, they make the miracle daily, really unbeliveable. This guys are together only 3 months, imagine!
I unfortunately wasn't able to watch the game as a tornado touched down and knocked my power out just a few minutes into the game. So I appreciate the in depth breakdown P. Looking at the box score the story of the game seemed pretty simple to me. The stars showed up for one team and they didn't for the other. Going into the series I would have Minnesota as the favorites because I trust the rest of the rotation over the Mavs. However, if the difference between the stars is going to be this great then nobody should really see Minnesota winning. Obviously I don't think you'll see Ant and Kat both struggle to score like this every game in the series, but if your 2 best offensive players are only combining to beat Luka's total by 2 points then you're in big trouble. Maybe it was fatigue from a grueling 7 game series, I saw Ant talk about that post game. Overall still trust the Timberwolves to get it done, but that Mavs defense ain't nothin to mess with.
