Offense is more than scoring. All Stephen A cares about is how good someone jumper & handle looks lol. Passing, playmaking, pace is all apart of offense. KD may be a better scorer than Luka (but even that is debatable because Luka scores just as much & just as easily) but Luka is a much better offensive player.

Luka is the only guy who’s an easy choice for top 5 scorer and top 5 playmaker. There isn’t a shot Luka can’t make, and there isn’t a pass he can’t make either. He might not be an efficient at scoring as KD, but he’s in another Galaxy as far as playmaking is concerned.

Luka is the best offensive player in the world. Harden has fallen off drastically, KD showed that he's mortal in the Celtics series and Steph is just not as efficient as he once was nor as versatile offensively as Luka.

KD is a great scorer and easily the most dynamic especially at his height, but offense means more than just scoring or how pretty it is. It’s playmaking, your ability to dominate matchups, controlling pace and being able to affect the floor offensively without scoring. Jokic, Giannis, and Luka are all better offensive players than KD.

Boston just put the *clamps* on KD when it really mattered, multiple times, while the 64 win Suns watched Luka cook them so bad they couldn’t outscore him put together and let him sit the 4th. I know who I’d be picking to run my offence right now

KD looked pretty mortal when Boston decided to double him. Luka is quite literally the most doubled player in the NBA (legit stat, look it up). He thrives in those situations bc he’s an elite passer/playmaker.

Luka is a way better offensive player than Kevin Durant. Offense isn't just scoring, can KD beat you with just his passing? No. Can Luka? Absolutely.

In terms of Offence: Luka is a better post player, better ball handler, better at controlling the pace, better off the double team and obviously a better passer. Not to mention that he is already a better leader than Durant. I would also argue that Luka is more clutch than KD. Really the only thing KD is better than Luka is at shooting. That said, on his day, Luka is just as impactful. I completely disagree with the idea that KD is a better offensive player than Luka.

Forget the playmaking, its about the amount of skill and footwork and movement to be able to create shots for yourself. KD with his height just needs to pull up and shoot. In terms of using technical ability to create shots, theres a whole lotta guys that are above him when it comes to offensive talent and scoring talent.

Belief is a big one for bringing out the best in your teammates. He seems to be inspiring belief in his teammates. Giannis is another. LeBron has kind of a mixed record, I'd say.

Easy and simple, as soon as he steps past half court he opens up the court for everybody else, he makes screens to help his players take better and more open shots, he moves without the basketball throwing defenses off, he's a great scorer on every level, and he averages 6+ assists while not even being ball dominant or the primary play maker. It's crazy to me how Steph is still underrated and boxed a just a shooter. NO ONE IN THE LEAGUE HAS A GREATER IMPACT ON OFFENSE, he's struggled shooting this year in terms of efficiency (by his standards, cause 38% from three is still pretty good, but bad for Steph) and still managed to keep the team's offense going. When Dray didn't play this season the warriors still managed to win over half their games without him with Steph leading them and people where saying "They are struggling because Dray is their most important player", when Steph didn't play THE WARRIORS COULDN'T WIN EVEN HALF THE GAMES WITHOUT HIM AND NO ONE SAYS NOTHING ABOUT HIM BEING THEIR MOST IMPORTANT AND IMPACTFUL PLAYER. The Celtics didn't defend anyone, including Giannis, the same way they defended KD. The always had 3 guys on him whenever he had the ball, and at least 2 when he didn't have it. They wouldn't even let him move around the court. Their whole defensive gameplan was based around stopping KD. Even if it's KD, to him facing that kind of defense for the first time, and with almost no help, there's no player who would not struggle. He overcame that in game 4 but it was too late.

Scoring is UNDER the category of OFFENSE. Scoring - KD Offense - Luka KD can NOT generate offense for his team when the defense focuses on him. (As seen on Nets vs Celtics) You may slow down Luka from scoring if you put multiple bodies on him BUT he can create offense for his teammates.

Luka really posted up everyone on the starting 5 and dropped buckets. He also elevated his team’s level of play while doing so without a superstar on his team KD, it’s safe to say never made his team better. With OKC he had a partner in crime with him. In Golden State, that team was already solidified. And with Brooklyn, they just got swept by Boston out of the 1st round.

Luka is in the WCF whereas Durant is at home in pajamas after the first round of the EC playoffs.

To be considered the best offensive player, you need to prove it against the best defenses that are thrown at you. KD came short in that situation. What good is having the reputation of “best offensive player” if you can’t live up to it when it matters most?

Overrating 1 skill of offense is the problem with media members. KD is a great scorer but Luka has more moves, is a better passer, creates open looks for teammates, has more variability with his scoring. Being a great 1 on 1 scored doesn't mean your the best offensive player.

Kevin Durant is a Star though it doesn't matter about his Team being sent Home by the Boston Celtics. That still doesn't make him a Bad Ball Player he's still in my Eyes considered one of the Greats for sure. 🙌

The question isn't who is the better scorer. It's who is the better offensive player. All Stephen A mentioned was individual scoring abilities and completely ignored how Luka sets his teammates up way better than Durant does.

Its close but for this season, you can argue Luka as a better offensive player. When Luka does get doubled, he can facilitate by passing out to his teammates which we havent seen much from KD.
