Luka Doncic Rookie HGA Submission Update! Grade Reveal and slab comparison to BGS PSA SGC! 

So let me get this straight (and I'm not trying to be a troll): PSA rejected the card, but the card moves easily in the case.....coincidence?

It’s the card stock that allows enough room to move in the case.

I have PSA slabs and some of the cards move in them.

People kill me. Just because the card is moving around in there it’s trimmed. Cards float around in PSA slabs too. Also, it assumes every slab and every interior space is identical across all slabs across all companies. People, stop worshipping PSA.

I love what HGA brings. I could see it forcing the other grading companies to go "hybrid" eventually, too. Maybe.

They need to be tested. Send in a trimmed card, and a reprint. See what their quality control is all about.

I also think that HGA has the potential to beat both PSA and Beckett with the customization options they have. Unless PSA can copy those same options while also guaranteeing turnaround times...Which I honestly don’t see happening any time soon

I actually like the PSA slab better. As far as looks. But holding them is damn near equally as important. All comps should show subgrades!

These slabs show the card the best! The extra area on the edges really help define the card.

Hoops cards are some of the thinnest cards printed...

I just sent my first submission to HGA. I don’t like that your card was moving around either, but I definitely have a few PSA graded cards that do the same thing. Hopefully they try to improve on that

I may have to submit to HGA - love color, quality and sub-grades. PSA is greedy AF these past couple years. PSA knows that most desire their service and have been taking advantage of their customers.

It’s loose in the holder because it’s trimmed 😂. Just kidding man great comparison on the slab I’m definitely thinking of sending them a few cards.

HGA, BGS, SGC and then PSA for me to look at. Value is the reverse.

I really like this but for the same thing you dislike is the card movement inside the slab..But in all reality it's not like we're gonna be carrying them around in our back pockets either lol..A little more stability should be noted however..good video and thanks for sharing

But true enough about the movement of the card. At least the future of grading will be done by a cpu and not some lazy person on a Friday saying I'm just looking quick stabbing m grading to meet quota

i have sent tons of cards to bgs beckett and sgc and i find more of the cards move around in psa holders than the other two graders not sure about hga though

Cards move around in a lot of slabs in my experience (especially if you physically are tapping the plastic holder on the table/desk and even just tapping with your finger as you showed). It's worth noting but I dunno how big a deal it is, to be honest. How often are you picking up your personal slabs and rattling them/shaking them, y'know? Loved the weight comparisons. Only thing I'm not a fan of on the HGA Slabs is that the player name is so huge and the actual card type - Panini Hoops Base is written so small at the type that you almost have to squint to read it.

Not a good luck for PSA with this one, bottom line. The HGA slab is really sharp, hoping they fix the loose cards in the future. Congrats on the return man!

Pretty common for the thinner stock cards (NBA Hoops) to move around in the slab... Wouldnt say it happens with all cards on thinner stock... huge difference between card thickness from NBA Hoops and that Select card you showed

BGS uses an inner sleeve to protect the card inside the slab.

Looks awesome!! What do you think the value is?? I know you’re keeping it but my guess it’d be 220-300$. If I’m collecting a player for PC I would buy the card in a HGA slab even w a low grade. The hga label only looks good with modern cards I feel like...sgc slab with bgs label would be dope

Well it would make sense if the card moves around if it was trimmed according to PSA right? That slab is much better looking than the rest though.

You might have pulled it from a pack but could’ve been cut slightly more at the manufacture and that could be why it’s moving in your slab. It could just simply be a manufactured defect. I’d like to know if all cards in these slabs move??? Just a thought

I really like the comparison of all the different slabs. The only thing I see is the HGA price is pretty steep for a new company thats not really established in the hobby. Totally agree they are the best looking, especially with all the options they have.

I do really love the labels on the HGA but it is not perfect, i still overall think PSA's slab is nicer looking for 2 reasons, reason number 1 is on the PSA slab there is very little slab left surrounding the actual card itself which i do like better and the second reason is PSA's slab is not see through (it's kind of frosted so you can't really see through it that much where as the HGA slab you can see right through it. If HGA could improve those 2 factors then i think the HGA slab would be better because i do absolutely love those HGA labels. Great video and happy for you that you got that Luka card back.

What Is the pricing

I curious to know what color scheme you're going to go with when you submit your older cards. The more plain look of those probably will look best with team colors versus card colors, but I'd like to see the result of each (these are the majority of what I would be submitting myself).

Psa is dumb, stick with HGA bud! Good job on the 9.5 grade on that luka card

You should definitely look into ISA grading. They have the black border trim, with the blue label. 10 day turnaround time at $ 10 per card. I really like them!! They have graded about 500 cards for me so far.

HGA 9.5s seem to be selling in close value to BGS 9.5s right now when you look at comps, so HGA has a real shot to make into the "big 3." Hoping they do as I've got a few cards heading to HGA next week.

Like the look of the HGA slab for that card. I would almost consider cracking your PSA 8 just to send it to SGC so you have 3 of the same card in 3 different slabs. Also, I've said this before too. SGC needs to buyout HGA and own their hybrid tech plus their label variations. What if SGC had a horizontal slab either in tux or in HGA-style label? Hmmm...

Is it possible its moving around because it is a little bit smaller, like PSA said? Not sure why no one has suggested that. Not saying its trimmed, just factory made that way.

I also wish the HGA website had more examples. They give you like 6 choices on type of label, but they don’t really SHOW you much.

i dont like the labels at all!, thickness and durability of the acrylic looks decent but the labels don't look high enough quality or "special" enough imo. i guess we'll have to see how these sell but i doubt we'll see any MJ pmg greens or 86 fleer rookie cards in these slabs for a looooong time!?

I'm super stoked with HGA,they are in my Top 3 ,with SGC an Beckett!! PSA will NEVER get another submission from me as they are bias on their grading an not true!!

Those are the best labels when matched to card..no color clashing..

All cards move around in psa slabs. “Well mostly all of them”. Nothing to worry about. Personally I’d use one touches. especially for autographed cards for the UV protection. And no cards will not be damaged in one touches until you violently shake them. Same as with a psa case

BGS 10 is still the pinnacle of the hobby though.. A BGS Gold label 10 will out sell a PSA 10 EVERY single time.. (I'm not even talking about a BGS black label 10.) I'm also not hating, I'm just speaking facts.. People can like it or hate it, but it doesn't change the truth..

I might be just me but it kinda bugs me that the label isn't the same width as the card. SGC slabs would look so much better if the label was the same width as the card below.

HGA looks awesome. Definitely agree that the card moving around is annoying tho

U did say psa sent it back because it was trimmed so if its trimmed then that would explain the movement. I have seen more psa wobble in slabs then others

nice grade. not really feeling the label from HGA that much....not that PSA is great but something about that Ariel type font makes it look cheap to me. I don't know but if they get your cards back quicker they may be an option

Your scale has the lid on it. You gotta move the plastic lid before you use it.

A moving loose card is what makes me grade with BGS, they don't move around against a hard and card damaging case... smh.

It's trimmed. I send them all my trimmed cards too. They grade everything.

There is probably a lot of room because they have only 1 mold for all card thicknesses

Some cards do that all makes of slabs ,the card is a little narrower

I like PSA the best. I almost wish the HGA sticker was bigger. There’s almost too much clear real estate. The card clanging around worries me tho. We gotta ensure thats not the norm.

It doesn't matter which slab looks good. It's how much you can sell it for and as of now PSA is king.

Probably beating a dead horse, but I have plenty of PSA slabs in which the cards move around. Especially the thinner cards from the junk wax era… 😬

The card is moving around because it’s not a normal card size hint why psa said it was trimmed. If it was normal it would fit and not move.

I think the HGA labels are ugly and won’t age well. PSA’s and Beckett’s labels are simple and basic because they know they’ll stand the test of time and look more professional.

Nice slab, but the ROI is not close. Maybe they can gain traction, but from the investor side I would not send to them.
