These are some of Luka's greatest plays from his career but they get increasingly more magical as the video goes on! Clips are licensed through a partnership with BBTV NBA Playmakers. Business Inquiries: mcosh3@gmail.com
1:54 "Oh man! Brown, you gotta pay attention there homey!" 🤣🤣 Love how Curry drops his head at 2:11 like "naw fam', only I do stuff like that, damn" 😂😂
Not been a fan of the NBA (or basketball in general) at really any point in my life, but man does this channel do the sport justice. Fantastic channel, fantastic editing, and always just getting to the point. Channels like this could really help get more people into the sport. As a side note, I have seen various highlight reels throughout the years, as I'm a sports fan in general so they always crop up. I have to say that, while Luka may not have the extensive reels of the likes of Curry or Kobe or LeBron, the quality he shows, even from a non-fan perspective, is right up there. Looks to be an incredible player.
@@danieltaylor9459 hes what got me into watching/following the NBA, I watched him play a game a few years ago and knew immediately he was that dude and have followed the nba since, and ive only seen him get better, hell, mans is well on his way to averaging damn near a triple double at 34 8 9 or sumn crazy like that as the frontrunner of the MVP race
I’m a bucks fan but Luka is my favorite player and because nba league pass has region restrictions I can’t watch any bucks games unless it’s a national game so I watch every mavs game instead it’s to the point where I know more about the mavs than the bucks I’m slowly turning into mavs fan on accident
That shot resembled the step through 2 defenders to pass technique on a full court press, except instead of a pass he drained a three at the buzzer. Wow!
Luka is like a lead guitarist who has learned every great lead guitar players style, and then plays his own solo that is a combination of them all. You can hear all the influences, but in this case you see all his influences from the sneaky passing and IQ like Bird, Harden step back. Dirk & KD style fade aways, and now his post up game is approaching a Bird/McHale type of thing… He was a great player before this season, but he has really kicked it up a notch.
yeah it's just crazy how every offseason he's picked something to get way better at. And another thing is his game doesn't rely on athleticism, so he could be playing this way in 15 years. Goat potential absolutely.
I love your editing skills, man. In a world of jump cuts and garbage, you stand alone. Thank you for the effort you put into your videos and sharing them with us.
He's been playing elite basket in Europe for years, being the star of Real Madrid and winning titles. Not his 4th season as a pro, just his 4th on NBA.
@@thesnipingspider3852 I would agree with you, but NBA fans are the most stubborn sports fans ever, they will never admit that another player is the GOAT over Jordan
@@VitorGSM I’m from chicago and Jordan is the GOAT over Lebron and anyone rn but it’s just dumb to downplay luka pure brilliance. Not even jokic or embiid are doing what this 22 (23???) year old kid is. He’s something special and doesn’t even look like he’s trying. Playoff luka will be a different breed like Jordan was. Also he’s averaging like 36 8 and 9 which is fucking insane. He’s cooking everyone and seems like he’s playing 50% speed
It’s CRAZY to think. Dirk spent almost 20 years in the league and was an All-Time Great. Luka is just getting started and is a once in a generation player.
It's been a few generations since I started watching Bird and Magic as a kid in the 80s. Luka is the most similar to Bird I've seen since Bird himself. It might be rarer than just a generation.
Right I'm a Mavs fan and I don't understand why teams don't force him to take that same shot from the right wing? I'd almost bet that he would miss more from that side.
Luka proves you don't need to have the flashiest handles or be the fastest player when you've got top tier situational awareness and game knowledge The people saying "bUt he HAs FlAshY HandLeS" completely missed the point of this comment and video.
What’s crazy is that because of his insane game knowledge yet lack of athleticism there will be a player who matches his mind and has the uber-athletics at some point. Happens every time a person is super talented in a specific area.
@@ayeeffvee8173 is it possible that Luka could be athletic if he trained for it but has never needed to because his iq makes up for it? Idk I don’t play basketball or anything just wondering
@@matthewchristensen1212 Definitely, and of course he’s extremely athletic as it is considering he’s in the NBA. But, he’s no Michael Jordan athleticism-wise.
1:57 man so many ones to pick from but dropping Cam Johnson to end the half in Game 7 was the appropriate stamp on the end of that series. Watching that live was awesome.
ive always liked basketball but have never in my life ever put in the effort to actually follow sports (NFL, NBA, etc). I randomly tuned into that game earlier this year and it pretty much singlehandedly got me to take the dive into the NBA. by far my favorite player tbh
I'd rather watch two men fishing than soccer, even when the fish aren't biting. Any tennis or men's basketball or US football are all fun to watch. Even golf is fun to watch in person.
Agreed, the passes, fake passes around opponents backs, the stumbling 3 pointer, impossible game winning shots. A more athletic version of Larry Legend.
@@nathanaelhanson2412 Bird was a pretty decent athlete prior to severely injuring his back. He was on 3 All-Defensive 2nd teams alongside some defensive LEGENDS like Sidney Moncrief and Michael Cooper. You don't see mediocre athletes in that crowd. Luka can probably move faster than Bird, but Luka isn't a 6'10" frontcourt player, either. Bird was much more athletic than many seemed to think, particularly those who just saw the tail end of his career when his back was broken or who were too young to have watched him.
Crazy how good Luka is for his age. Most people would reach their prime at a few years older so to see someone so good already is so impressive since he’s gonna get better
Yeah and he IS getting better every year. Always adding new aspects to his game. Last year it was the midrange fadeaway. This year it’s defense and absolutely unstoppable post ups
I think what most people forget is longevity. Most white players don't have the same long term health. I believe you are seeing peak Luka. As he gets into peak years you may begin to see his health decline. Larry Bird comes to mind and the truth is Luka doesn't take care of himself. He's very heavy and enjoys eating McDonald's. That can't be good for long term health. Before you say I'm hating, I'm not. I'm concerned the Mavs are wasting his best years as they don't put a real contender around him. I hope he does have a long healthy career but history says otherwise. His health choices also leave a lot to be desired.
Watching luka make these plays are mad satisfying, when luka is in the zone it’s a joy to watch. Makes me wanna shoot some hoops lol, wild he pulls off this stuff in the NBA but he’s just that comfortable & confident on the court it doesn’t matter 😂 I’m not even a mavs fan either ggs luka
With his creativity and craftiness he literally has unlimited potential to grow. I have no doubt that when it's all said and done he will be the best to ever do it
I've seen enough. he's an all timer. I watched the Raptors game awhile back and Nick Nurse threw a bunch of looks at him. he just picked it all apart. he's special
Larry Dončić LD77 is the most versatile player in the history of basketball and the most fun to watch for me.He plays smart, creative and attractive basketball with the help of incredible skills combined with his size and age. Merely filling baskets like other basketball players do with force is uninteresting. Everyone has weaknesses and his is probably his mental and playing stability. He can only be stopped by himself or by intentional injuries and this they have already done to him several times. To win titles, of course, they need a team effort. 01:57
Luka has that last shot magic that few have, that even some of the greatest to play don't have. Nothing but respect from this life time Celtic fan. 1💚! ☘️☘️☘️
@@whatsthebigfndeal your guy? Pretty sure his ppl, his agent, and his team would love to include you but... you're a bit rambunctious there. You realize solo accolades mean next to nothing in team sports, right? This was essentially a hype video, and you out here proclaiming Luka as the best. The "best" turn them solo accolades into rings. Have patience, he needs a supporting cast...☘️💪😉
Maybe you should learn reading comprehension. I only wrote 2 sentences in the last comment. Buckle up cuz this one might yet be even more difficult for you to grasp. Luka is young and has a last shot touch that some of the greatest do not... plus the KID speaks 4 very different languages and he will eventually get a surrounding cast. Hopefully not as nice as the Celts have, but it seems you're a bit jealous of what he as achieved because he doesn't play for the team you root for. Ya do realize that you're allowed to admire other players in the league right? Someone told you right? No? Well let me be the 1st to inform: a fan who roots for an individual team is allowed to admire other players throughout the league. As you are just a fan and the team you root for owes you nothing but playing games that they are payed to play with that specific city team jersey on, for a determined amount of time. So hey, let loose cuz it's no big f n deal. 😉...Go Celtics ☘️
You can see every motion without timelapse. You know what is gonna happen. The best most physical defenders in NBA know exactly what is gonna happen. Then, it happens.
That rookie Luka tie shot against the Portland is still one of the most incredible shot. He missed to step across his defender like AI did to Lue. That would be classic.
This video basically shows why Luka Doncic is my favorite Point Guard. The guy is magic and between his Scoring and Playmaking, the guy is simply incredible. What a Super Star. 👏🏻 him and Nikola Jokic on a team would be unstoppable. I see a lot of similarities between the two.
I think that 1 legged fadeaway vs the clippers might be one of the wildest. He was deep from 3pt and laced it off one foot. The guy doesn’t care how hard the shot is.
“So Luka what was your thought process out there tonight?” “Well, I watched that Larry Bird mixtape before warmups and figured I’d give some of it a try.”
I'm in my mid-40s and was old enough to watch Bird as a kid. Bird vs. Magic was my introduction to the NBA. Luka reminds me the most of Bird of any player since Bird played.
