In this Bible study, we take a look at Luke 3:7-18. This passage illustrates some of John the Baptist's preaching, illustrating the ways that John the Baptist is preparing the way for Jesus.
This text is the Gospel text for the second week of Advent (Year C) for Christian traditions that follow the lectionary.
All Bible references are ESV. I quote both the IVP Bible Background Commentary and Leon Morris's commentary on Luke, also published by IVP.
There are questions for reflection/continued discussion at the end of the video.

Hi Roni!! I'll be back with a new video on Monday I hope. The Christmas holiday, some preaching, and then a stretch of snow days that had my kids at home (and me parenting) meant a break in videos. But back soon!!

Hi Roni! I actually made a video on that back in the early days of covid (when I thought maybe I'd have time to do more than just one Bible study a week on RU-vid). You can find it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GZSmy8a6lFU.html I talk about a few of my favorite resources -- Bible software, a good original language tool/online Strongs concordance (for word studies), and a few of my favorite commentaries -- I always check the InterVarsity Press Bible Background Commentary, for example.
