My best friend and wife of 21 years, moved another man into my house, and then filed for a divorce. I tried to fight to save my marriage, and my family. My wife and my daughter, both turned me away. Oh you can sell your soul it just doesn't happen the way people says it does, a lot of times people don't even know that they've sold it. You don't need to be financially rich or famous to gain the world. Gaining the world is enjoying the forbidden fruit of knowledge of good and evil in garden of Eden of Genesis. We all ate from that forbidden fruit because we all die one day. Those who are born again understands that forbidden fruit because born again needs to live by the Spirit that God gave us rather than living the flesh that the forbidden fruit represents because Adam and Eve felt shame with the body naked as it was the work of the flesh. That same forbidden fruit was enjoyed by Cain as he was a farmer who relied on his flesh to do good whereas Abel sacrificed a sheep (signifying Christ as the Lamb of God)

If there's any such thing as a soul( and I don't think there is), it has to be immaterial. Thus, it's interdependent of the physical body. Hence, it cannot suffer for what the physical body did. The question is silly; the case is closed!
