I was 6 and half.....growing up in Scotland.....bloody LULU on every channel (all 3 of them) I am sure I actually watched this the first time around.....cang forget that background
They should have stayed with the BBC. Ernie reflected on this years later. Thames Television just didn't have the quality of scriptwriters that the BBC had at that time. I of course may be biased, as I was a junior scriptwriter writer in 1974 at the BBC. They were both talented performers, however Eric was the comic genius, of that there was no doubt.
Graham Taylor You are joking. I met her face to face 30 years ago and was shocked how she’d aged beyond her years (chain smoking and maybe drink). If she looked any better it’s thanks to her surgeons.
Hugo - That's strange then. Because here's an interview with her from just last year. She still looks pretty good ( for her age - just turned 69 !!! ) in my opinion. And remember she's wearing minimal makeup. With it, she'd be even better ! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O6plsZeye-M.html And as it's the Christmas season, from eight years ago in 2009, when she was 61 - doing a duet with Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees. One of my favourite songs of theirs ; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9cNWAtgNCWg.html
Graham Taylor As I said - plastic surgery. But you can have no idea what makeup artists and camera lighting have done. But as I said - I was one metre away from her for a considerable period. As she accepts herself she was a heavy smoker (huge skin damage) until into her 40s.
Eric and Ernie always used to end the show with a sketch featuring the celebrity of the show... This particular sketch featured the song " If my friends could see me now..?" " They'd never believe it.." Unable to find it...any help would be appreciated..
