LUMINETH WARSCROLLS: Breaking down Teclis, the Scinari and the Riverblades! 

They definitely should have made at least the Loreseeker a Lumineth Paragon, it fits with their lore.

I am trying to make the Loreseeker work. He is the model that got me started on Lumineth, so I really want to include him in my first game of 4th. Here is the plan: Loreseeker with Phoenix Stone and Paragon of Hysh deployed on my opponent's backfield objective. Vanari Brilliance battle formation and Deep Thinkers on the first turn, with the Morbid Conjuration manifestation lore. I will be relying on my opponent deploying into combat with him. First turn: Cast Soulsnare Shackles to disrupt the opponent's neatly lined up batteline (through the command ability if I go second). Then just chipping away on the unit that deployed into combat with him. With a bit of luck he might be able to reduce that unit to a Control Score low enough that he controls the objective rather than the opponent. When the opponent kills him, he (hopefully) revives from the Phoenix Stone and lives yet another turn. If he lives for another turn, he can continue to cause nuisance in the backfield. The thought is that he disrupts the opponent's battleline, and that the opponent will have to divert more resources to deal with him than what it is actually worth. It probably isn't any good, but if it can provide just a little bit of frustration to my opponent, it will definitely be worth it for me!

Make no mistake. The slash battle trades are very good for slash. I just played two games with slash and got table on turned three and turned one respectively.

The nice thing about the Calligrave is that he can cast any Manifestation (currently) in your opponents hero phase. He doesn't get -1 to cast (via command ability), because his 8 cannot be modified. So yeah, screening with the Purple Sun or Incarnate off turn is.. just... wow.

Giving E&E scinari and vanari keywords is such a huge boost with our index.

I think they spent a lot of time on spearhead. And not as much as they should on the game. So anything they could not be balanced quickly was cut

Loving the Lumineth content! I’m new to Sigmar this edition and I’m keen to get started with my Lumineth Spearhead force and build from there

I feel like Teclis was really painted into a corner with the index situation. His points are too high for what we're getting right now because it's probably keeping in mind what he will be getting in the battletome, but they probably don't want people making lists with him at a severely reduced cost to make up for it. With the addition of the water temple, if he goes back to knowing all the lores he's going to pick up 9 spells, and I wouldn't be shocked if they threw in the Manifestation of Hysh for him as well.

Another cool thing that you can do with the ability "Relentless as the driving current" of Riverblades is that you can "jump" enemy screens as long as you finish the movement in combat.

Loreseeker has to be the worst warscroll in the index. You're totally right, hes not just a waste of points but also a liability. Imo at least the ballista deals damage and doesn't let ur opponent score potentially multiple free battle tactics

Well if AoS index mirror how stuff ends in the books, the wsy it did for w40k, then this looks grim for some units. The loreseeker is suppose to be like the sm lone operative Lt. He lacks 3 things though. He is not cheap. He doesn't have defensive stats and he does have a rule that makes him untargetable from further then 12" .

Isn't etheral blessing very useful for Ellania and Ellathor?

You don’t have to save unbinds in your turn. Casting spells doesn’t affect the ability to unbind

E and E are Wizard (1). You could cast Sanctum and increase that. Might be good early game to cast lots of spells then teleport close to the action.

I still like the Cathalar. Anything that effects control score is strong imo. That's why in my other two armies I want to go outcasts for sylvaneth and use Yndrasta in stormcast
