Thanks Caleb for the video. Is it possible for the S5 to get All I through an update? Strange it was not included since it does have an UHS II card slot.
Just been doing a bit of random reading today and Panasonic's 4k 400mbps All Intra 25p is roughly equivalent to ProRes LT. And FHD 200mbps All Intra 25p is roughly equivalent to ProRes HQ. Every day is a learning day for me. 😀 I'm getting very excited about a GH6. However it will have to be considerably better than my GH5+Ninja combo, with the ability to make me a Filming Legend the moment I hit the Record Button. 🤣
I’m about to buy a camera next week I’m doing short film and movies I wrote idk what to get gh5 or s5 ? Love the videos I would love it if u can help thanks 🙏🏾
I'm considering getting a the s5 and selling my gh5, i believe it's better because I'm probably going to buy Atmos njnja at some point. But for now, is not having 400mbps and ALL-i a big drawback? Because i like color grading, I'll also only shoot in Vlog but Iwas under the impression that it's not that big of a difference because the s5 can record hevc so it can cram more data through the compression. Could you do a stress test on the video files of those two? Would really appreciate it. Thank you, and great video btw. No worries about the megabit per second😉 Learning together!
Hi man I’ve been watching your tutorials since last week (just purchased gh5). I learned a lot from you. Just a question Is V-Log a necessity or cine d can do the job for weddings and interviews? I noticed on a VLog is the skin tone and doesn’t really hold up on 8-bit (I shoot 60fps and120fps all the time) Cine d on the other side, yes less dynamic range, yes highlight is more blown out than vlog… but skin tone and flexibility between 10bit and 8bit is amazing. Sorry I’m in the middle of buying vlog key or not. 😂
If you're willing to learn to grade further, buy it! It gives you 2 additional stops of Dynamic Range of not Cine D will do great, just nail exposure and def stick with 10 bit.
I don't think you get it. The all intral 400Mbps on the GH5 is not enough for 4K. The FHD 10 bit 4:2:2 all intra on the GH5 is 200Mbps, so do the math, the 4 K should be 800, It's only half of that. Let me give you a horrible, huge secret: buy a cheaper "older" FF cam from Sony or Canon for your stills and get a Blackmagic 6K for video. That hybrid business is silly. Don't you see it's a commercial gimmick ? I mean of one day Craftman gives you a machine that does both screwdriver and hammer you'll buy it?
I am checking various S5 reviews and I cannot get rid of one thought. If you want to shoot 4K 50/60fps you need to crop image to APS-C, right? (So already bigger crop than with GH5 and 0.64x speedbooster.) Besides, without external recorder you can only choose from LongGOP codecs (not like All-I in GH5 again). When you connect Ninja V you have an awesome option to shoot ProResRAW in 5.9K, but what about 4K and ProRes (not RAW)? If I wanted to shoot 4K 10-bit 4:2:2 50fps I would get APS-C crop? If yes, than I can get better FOV and same quality with GH5, so what's the point? Tell me if I'm wrong, I'm just curious :)
I’ve been debating these two cameras for a while now and can’t decide. Since I can pickup a used GH5 for pretty cheap, would you say the extra price of the S5 is worth it mainly for the full frame? I’m not so sure.
@@ShinTenshi from what I’ve seen, I don’t necessarily think so. I mean, not only do you have to purchase the body but you also have to get new glass. I think you would have to ask yourself if the “limitations” of the GH5 are truly holding you back from creating what you want to create and if the S5 will solve all those problems. And also if solving those problems is worth the $$$.
as i look back on some of the images i can tell the better picture coming from the S5 quality. however, i don't know if it's enough to upgrade from the gh5 especially if you're already invested in the gh5. like you said, new lenses, new flow. i feel very confident in the gh5.
@@CalebHoover yeah that’s what I was thinking too. I’ve been shooting with a Sony a6300 and have just been curious about the GH5 and maybe adding it to the kit and trying it out.
yeah it's a great lens! the only issues i have with it are the glass is curved and with zooming it does not allow you to put on a vnd. you'd need to use a matte box or something. also, since it's curved glass, lots of flares
Its almost the time To upgrade for me : Im beginner and want upgrade my g7. For the price I prefer Gh5 + ninja V + lens like 18-35 sigma art (2ND hand of course) To the S5
Don't forget in the bill the ring to adapt to the Sigma art on the GH5. Pretty expansive if you want one that does the job good. Viltrox ones are cheap but such a mess. Metabones are good, but cost 600$.
i like the newer sensor on the S5 but if you''d be recording on the ninja anyway, you'd be fine with that combo. but yeah like the others said, you'd have a speedbooster or adapter expense in there as well.
@@alaind4713 Merci pour la réponse 🔥Vous pensez que le Viltrox ne ferra pas l'affaire? Certain dise qu'il fait le job... Je ne cherche pas avoir l'autofocus de toute façon
