Comment on the weight topic from a roadie: if you have the kickstart in one hand and a 'regular' helmet in the other, you'll feel the weight difference. However, I recently moved and only brought the lumos. Been rocking it on 5hr rides with tough climbs and neck was absolutely no issue 👍🏻
Nice review. I have been riding with a Lumos for a year now. Last winter it was a great addition to my "be seen" kit. This is important as my commute involves some busy traffic sections. Honestly, I had the impression that drivers were thinking, "Hey, what's that up ahead?" The weight thing has not been a problem. I have about a 50 minute commute mornings and evenings and have been wearing the Lumos all summer (I am too cheap to buy a second helmet!) without problems. I even wore my Lumos for a Week of light family cycle vacation without weight/neck issues. The only gripe I have is the on/off button. It needs to be set to the desired mode BEFORE putting the helmet on. Adjusting settings once the helmet is on is complicated.
Users complain about long charging time, product is not water resistant and short battery life "max 2 hours". How is there costumer service, loads of people report there is no costumer service or guarantee is this true? We are interested of purchasing few of these helmets but difficult to find answers on those questions. This review is NOT objective.
I am most interested in the brake light. One review said it only activated when the bike was completely stopped. Can it be adjusted to activate right when you begin to brake?
I used the lumos app this morning but it looks it used my battery more. Before I left home, the app shows 82% battery and when I got to work only 32% left (40min, 14km ride) that's 50% usage, wow! I used the slow flashing mode on my helmet. Can someone pls confirm that the Lumos app makes my helmet battery drain more? If yes, I won't use the app anymore while riding. I will stick to my strava. Thanks.
I can only guess that if you have the app connected to the Helmut it has to be via blu-tooth. This will drain battery. I would use the app to set up then turn off.

I wonder why do people think that a strobe is better than a normal light? It creates only confusion and disorientation. Please just use normal lights, it works just the best
