Actually having had a cyst that got huge I can tell you I didn’t even feel the cut but the pressure release was awesome. Now two days later the cut hurt but it has to be done.
As someone who has had an abscess in my face before, I can attest to the instant relief you feel when it Is lanced. The pressure is incredibly painful and that would feel SO MUCH BETTER.
@Karisma Kris yeah, I'll give you that 😅 I just meant it's barely a blip against the constant, relentless agony of a bad abscess, ya know? Mine has been one that made you want to punch yer ticket early if ya get my drift 😅
some of my best memories with my dad were when he taught me how to change a car tire and change the oil in the car. just doing tasks together and me learning
Farmers sometimes have to perform procedures to save livestock. Farmers have a hard life but we thank God for farmers! I was one for many years and it was a hard but beautiful life.
@@Linda-hs1lk bullshit (ha), a cow in pain wont produce as much as a happy cow, farmers know this and do their best to make sure the cows are as painfree and happy as can be.
@@Linda-hs1lk incorrect. Every GOOD farmer knows happy cows give the best milk. This would be one of the reasons we can buy water beds for cows. Every single dairy farm I have had to go to to repair stuff has always treated the cows with respect and you could see it in their behaviour. The few farms I had heard of who mistreated their cows are no longer holding stock. The dairy world in my end of Canada is very much about the best quality of milk which can be given, and than means you make sure that cow is treated well, no exceptions or you WILL be shutting it down whether you like it or not.
I grew up raising livestock on the farm. Great to see your postings. Brings back good memories, farmers are the backbone of the USA. I wish the greater population would realize what the farmers give and give up to support our needs. Thank you to all farmers. God bless you and keep you safe.
I love the way we've been able to take a video that we normally only showed to friends and can now educate people across the world. Your videos have taught me more in a few minutes than I learned in an entire semester in college. Aside from the fact that it is so informative it was priceless seeing a father taking so much time to show his daughter the ropes so she'll be able to jump right in and help work the farm should she choose to. I'm under 40 but growing up I didn't know any fathers teaching their daughters farming. My family was into cattle but mostly into sales, my grandpa was a true legend making his living later in life as an auctioneer. My grandparents had 5 kids, with 4 of them being big strapping boys it took a lot to keep them fed. He had a working ranch but when beef prices fell while feed costs went sky high he started buying and selling cattle to/ for big producers like Armor Foods. I hated that I was a girl because neither he nor my father would teach me a thing. I guess they were more old fashioned and my place was in the kitchen. Now I'm trying to learn enough to make a career fingers crossed with a small herd and then maybe one day watch my grandchildren roam our land learning with pride what it means to hardworking, responsible adults. So with all that being said thank you for sharing bits and pieces of your life and teaching us as well.
I hope your brother's have as much passion for ranching as you do. My father-in-law has a 2500 acre ranch with 500 cattle and his sons don't seem interested. I would be interested but it's in Brasil and I don't speak Portuguese so dealing with the locals would be hard.
@@VibeWithTiki16 lol yeah I wish that were the case but I don't drink. I just had professors whom didn't love the field with as much passion as this man. I was just wanting to show appreciation to a man that wants to share his knowledge with all of us.
Oh wow that poor cow she looks like she's in so much pain. I can't imagine the pressure she had. So glad you guys were able to help her. Hope she healed up well. Awww she is so right! That is the perfect place for a Bee Holiday!
I live in New Zealand and came across your channel..I just want to say I admire the relationship you have with your daughter .it's wonderful to see a father involved with the kids..I have subscribed xx
Really great video. The way you care for your animals is wonderful and thanks for sharing the fun moments with your kids with us. Respect from Nigeria.
The heaven feeling that cow felt when the cut was done. Instant relief! Thank you guys for helping and caring for this wee beastie. I hope she recovered with no further abscess.
I used to work in an emergency room (human) and we had to drain many an abscess, but one stands out. Guy said the cyst had been growing for 15 years. We pulled just about 1000ml of pus out of it. The smell was legendary. I rubbed vicks under my nose and put a mask on (and safety glasses for obvious reasons) but that cut the smell enough i could stand to be in the room (i was the third tech to assist. The smell and 'ew...' factor ran the first two off lol) There are parts of that job i don't miss
I can relate... working in surgery. The smells of pus, rotten flesh, and cauterized (burned) flesh is incredibly hard to remove from your nose! I was taught to put peppermint oil in my mask, and that worked for me!
Those are great helpers! I see a future vets and farmers! Enjoy your daughter and the time spent together. Kids grow fast and you will miss her when she grows up and moves out of the house. Beautiful scenery. God's country.
You are an encouragement. Probably not far off for a future vet for one of them anyway. And yes this is God's Country actually this is God's Ranch and I just try my best to stuart it for him. Have a great day.
My guess is if an animals suffering; is in danger of dying from infection, and it's going to take the vet days to get to the farm, it might be better for the rancher to do what is in the best interest of the animal. The loss of even a single animal like this to a small farm or ranch can be financially devastating. One might need to also consider the cost of having a vet come to treat a single animal. Also, some farms raise animals without hormones, pain meds, and antibiotics. Finally, human surgeries, treatments must sometimes be done without antibiotics, and meds, even with pain and side effects. These inconveniences have to be measured against the benefit. I undestand, it’s a tough thing to watch, and also tough to do. Even so, most ranchers love their animals and know and do what is best.
Most ranchers are actually pretty good at things like this, as a rancher myself we half the time don’t even need a vet anymore, bc most of the problems we get are repeated and we’ve watched the vet enough to know how to do that
Excellent comment!! I have to say I had many abscess s in my day and trust cutting it open is Best for the animal or person. It doesn't have to be Life or Death !? Unless, abcess is not Popped...it Must be popped and Drained !! As long as most of puss, etc is drained!? It should be OK . Antibiotics is also a good thing to use to make a 100% Recovery !!
I grew up in the outdoors, I think the kids today dont get enough of the outdoors. They are stuck with their faces in phones. More outdoors Less Depression!
I originally came for the giant cow pimple popping but stayed for the adorable wholesome conversations between the father daughter and nephew (I'm guessing? Or son?) You guys Are adorable, and that bee vacation spot was something beautiful like whenever seen before. Thanks for te video
You all so happy. I always wanted to live on a farm or a ranch. People that are living on farms or ranches are all nicer and.are so like. They're just more loving. I'm so glad to have found your channel. We all need something terrific like the to watch. Thank you for sharing your life at the farm. Prayers and good luck to all of you. Where is this place you raise all these beaytiful animals.
I honestly believe this 🐄 cow was eternally grateful for the care you give it. I've never seen anything like this and the extra knowledge is excellent.
Happy to see you have your young side kick with you teaching her the ropes. I did the same thing with my son. He's now 17 and can do anything that's needed at the ranch. I'm not sure if you have Cattleman courses in your area if you do that would be a great learning experience for her. I sure she will learn a lot. 🙂👍
Holy shit!!! At first I was like why is grandpa so far away? Man!!! Good thing Grandpa moved fast. I am live in Chicago, Il. I don't even like the woods. I cannot imagine living on a farm. Poor bull, he looked so relieved, right away. God bless & thank you for sharing your farm.
Ya, we have a lot of fun together. We always figure out a way to turn work into fun. You might like this video when we clean out the liner together. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HPDK4XL0OyY.html
Brings back memories! Me and the old man have done this a few times together. I was in 6th grade the first time. There was something that was lodged in the cows jaw. We didn't have a head catcher at the time and it sure was a hell of an exciting time getting it done.
Although I was totally fascinated by the bull's abscess, my heart was totally melted with Mikayla's bee vacation section. That was so darn wholesome ♡♡♡. Ya'll just gained a new subscriber, god bless 🙏
I had a abscess I couldn't get up walk I was in excruciating pain in a 1 to 10... 10 being the worst I was a 30 couldn't eat sleep couldn't afford the doc visit I mean it was bad not even meds did anything at this point ... But let me tell you the moment it burst IMMEDIATELY went from 30 to a 2 I was so relieved cleaned it up good and in 5 min it was like it never happened ... It took days to fully heal with much care of course but no lie you helped that animal instantly!!
that brings back memores of my child hood growing up being around amials like cows,!I am enjoying watching how you treat your animals, you seem to care about their health and I really appreciate that!
Just another day for you but let me tell you I'm from the blue ridge mountains of North Carolina and i have never seen a sight as beautiful as that infinite sky you have there, many times I've heard the expression "breathtaking" but at 39 years old i had never experienced it until i watched this, absolutely gorgeous i can't actually imagine it in person, that is certainly gods country
I'm turning 39 this year myself and was born and raised here on the ranch. I don't know much different but I love heading to the Rocky Mountains every once and a while just 3 hours away from the Ranch. Nothing like climbing a mountain and listening to a Elk bugle in the distance. Not much makes you feel closer to God then just simply exploring his creation. Feel free to subscribe and check out our Elk hurting videos with some pretty cool footage. Have a great day!
Nothing better than daddy/daughter time. This little girl idolizes her dad. Her dad does such a wonderful job showing his little girl how much he loves her. That cow sure looked happy after the abscess got drained. Loved this video
I wish you could have numbed that abscess, but anything that infected isn't going to numb. Been there, done that, and a quick lancing really is kinder.
Your such a gift to these animal, may our Creator keep you blessed and stay safe, little bull felt soooo much better and the relief, bless your heart and your a great power of example fir yoyr children!!!
Your place is beautiful. I live in Oregon and I'm not saying we don't have great places but in the coastal range it's just trees and mountains. Which is great but we don't get such a great view of the sky from here. It's impressive to see it that wide.
Aww Mykayla(?) Sorry if spelt wrong but she is adorable..."if you're a bee watching this, this is the perfect vacation spot." TOO cute, innocence at its finest...greetings from NY!
No need to apologize. You were very close and if you like Mikayla's sweet heart then you might like our very first video we made when we were inspired to take people around the Ranch durring our morning chores almost a year ago durring our first lock down. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mB1-MNyN9Hw.html
Poor baby. You can see how relieved it is as it drains. I grew up on a farm and it's sad to see them panic- but nice to see how relieved they are after the help
Ouch! I can only imagine the relief though. You see so many of these videos about the awful things people do on farms and ranches, I love seeing these where people really care.
Every kid should grow up in the country, like your kids are. Making some great memories for these kids. You’re an awesome father. Your kids will grow up with their heads screwed on right. With a work ethic that is sorely lacking these days. Kudos to you and your wife for your parenting.
Good work on the lump jaw. I have treated about 20 cows that had that problem. I always used a scalpel and cut a x on the swelling. I then pack Sulphur powder on on the x cut.
I really like your daughter. "If you're a bee watching...". She's funny. I see so many whiney, full-of-themselves brats on tv and online it's hard not to think all American children are like that. Your daughter is a breath of fresh air.
Woo metacam! We’ve always got some in the house for our dogs, great for minor things (stiffness/soreness etc) give it 24 hours before having to get to the vets (who usually just tell us to give them metacam until we get in)
Be careful with that stuff.. My vet had one of my dogs on metacam daily for a hip problem.. It ended up causing kidney failure and we had to put him down.. He was only 12 years old.. A few months later we got a new puppy and couldn't get in to see the vet we had always used.. So we had to make an appointment with a different vet.. During the wellness check of our new puppy, our last dog got brought up in the conversation.. He couldn't believe our last vet had prescribed metacam daily for an extended period of time, because it is very well known to cause kidney failure in dogs..
You're a wonderful dad, man. If you've ever felt doubt, _never_ worry. You're doing everything *_right._* Being a dad is a hard as nails job. It's amongst many ultimate challenges. But you've taken it by the horns and wrangled it right into the pen! You're doing great, papa. Don't worry~
