Thanks for this, Drew. The Office Hours are also great, but these bite size videos are easier to navigate, digest and refer back to. By the way, the low latency monitoring works really well for AU instruments, which is very important for accurate playing or with "feel". But I think the Luna documentation is inaccurate; it says the latency for VIs is always 128 samples regardless of the ARM mode state, which is not the case. ARM makes it much faster and more responsive.

Thanks Chris! The docs are correct. What ARM does for VIs is to bypass the buses and the Main out to get you the lowest latency. For example, if you play an instrument with ARM mode off (or even just my selecting its track name with ARM on but it not rec enabled) you're playing through the instrument buffer plus all your bus assignments and main fader. But as soon as you record enable it (or turn on ARM mode) note that you're no longer playing through the buses or Main out and therefore have less latency. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any follow up questions.

@@UniversalAudio Ah, I see, thanks! So, we get the better VI performance with ARM, but for a different reason. By the way, I do sound design and electronic/experimental tunes, and Luna with UAD plugs is amazing for merging digital synthesis and samping with classic analog like sound and workflow, all in the box. The overall feel along with the sleek user experience and simple workflow really makes me focus on the sound and the composition. You got me early and I stuck around :)

My version of LUNA doesn't appear to have any of those features. Nothing under the transport menu, nothing next to the faders like shown in your video 🤷

This video was very helpful to this newbie to Luna. What routing would I use if I wanted to do a stereo mix down old school to a CD burner - i.e. including all plug-ins etc.? Thanks for your help.

Use the Mixdown command. This will create a stereo mix of your production. See this vid for more on Exports. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aDnkswcxgI4.html

@@UniversalAudio What I’m asking is how to do a stereo route out of the Apollo x4 analog to cd burner. I was told to mirror through cues in mix position to line outs 1-2. Will this include plug-in effects etc.?
@UniversalAudio
@UniversalAudio 2 года назад
Sure, you can do that. Send from the Main out via a Cue and it'll be the same as your mix.

We are setting up a studio for livestreaming in which all our audio needs to be processed live through UAD plugins and routed so it can be streamed and sycned to video. Of course, as low latency as possible and great routing are important. We have an x6 and were wondering if for this specific use case LUNA would work, as Console only has 4 insert effects per channel?
@UniversalAudio
@UniversalAudio 2 года назад
Yes, you could use LUNA and get 8 inserts per channel.

I own the apollo twin x quad. however, the arm is not active. Closed. And I can't open it. It is always passive. I want you to help.

Honestly. The constant updates on my macbook pro and consistent problems each updates brings is frustrating. Apparently Monterey will no longer support UAD in the future on my current macbook!
