@bigfreakinfrog not to discourage you from playing all of them (there is even an English translation of the 1st king's field floating around online you can get) but it may be best to start with 4. The first few are quite dated and I would be hard pressed to say they hold up to even their contemporaries of the time. Shadow Tower also would be a good one to try.

@@bigfreakinfrog Very minimally, less so than even the dark souls series. The best ones from that era are King's Field 4 and Shadow Tower Abyss (there is a fan made english translation for it) both were made for PS2 and are the culmination of Fromsoft's experience with the PS1 games they made.
