That's PV Cove (AKA Bluff Cove). Where those 3 surfers are sitting on the right is known as Little Reef. Lunada Bay is about a mile South. You may get some grumpy long boarders out there, but The Cove is mostly pretty mellow. Sometimes some of the Bay Boys will surf there (The Bay is unrideable when the surf is that small) and hang out on the rocks, but if you just keep to yourself there you'll be fine. Who is hassling who in this video? No one wants some jackass flying a drone in their face. Trestles, Windansea, Malizoo. Anywhere there are rocks accessible, you're likely to get the same reaction.
Windansea guys were assholes but most people just laughed at their over the top rages lol. But I do agree that you can't go to a localized spot and fly a drone out there up in a bunch of ppl's faces. They'll just assume u upload to YT and blow the spot out of the water and in this case, they were right

drones are used for surfing footage . bet if you rode the best tube of you life and you saw a drone you would go out of your way to see if he had footage of you
@@xisotopex ppl there clearly take it too far, but I'd be mad too if some dude showed up with a drone at a localized spot and uploaded it to YT. Wouldn't throw a rock at it tho, I'd just shake my head and move on... unless of course you want the entire city to hate you and have a god damn lawsuit about it
Some buzzing flying thing and all those rocks! Let me try. It was a pretty good throw but no cigar. A wrist rocket would be a good bet to really knock it down. That would be hilarious!
Has nothing to do with "right." Has to do with manners and decent conduct. Do you have the right to stand in front of strangers and stare at them in public? Legally, yes you do. Do you do it? Hell no, you know it's aggressively bad manners and could get you into a well-deserved conflict. Hiding behind a drone does not excuse you from mannerly conduct. Basic respect for other people should instinctively inform you about the unspoken rules of behavior in public. If you lack these instincts, you need to put your rubber pants back on and report to your parents for retraining.

Not going to scold you for filming people changing, etc... Just curious - did you have FPV on your craft, or did you see him throw the rock from above?
The phantom this guy uses is way way more noisy then what they need to be, this is an off the shelf Multi Rotor, it's NOT a drone in the sense of it being used to drop bombs and what not in military. Using a gopro you have to get way to close to people and that's the chance you take at pissing someone off, it's not smart on the guy's part to do that, it's the risk you take. I fly whats called a simple copter, it's about 25 times more quiet then the phantom, when I went to the baja 1000 in Mex flickr.com/photos/renebruce/sets/72157637362034815 people hardly knew it was even up in the air ( they only notice most the time cause you have a transmitter in your hand and know your flying something ( fvp is different as you can fly pretty far away. As far as privacy, give me a break, you ever seen all the friggin cameras tracking your every move most anywhere... heck google earth shows way more and is way more a problem cause if your home out front bam... this is out in the ocean nobody cares who you are. I for one love these on trips as it gives you some really kool picts you wouldn't normally be able to get !!! Donny, be smarter when you fly that noisy phantom, try building a real multi that's running some carbon fiber props or gemfans... check out the XuGong I've been flying that a bit and it's very compact, check them out !!! ( btw licensing this footage, that's funny).

As much as I dislike PV surfers, I have to agree with this comment. No one likes being followed around by some random camera. That’s a creepy fucking ‘hobby’. It wouldn’t have to be at Lunada for someone to react the same way.
First off he didn’t ATTACK you and second if you fly your drone in front of us boys here in NC especially if we’re just chilling and wanting to be left alone we would have taken it out cause that’s just invasion of privacy
