Learn about the impact of invasive species on our urban forest. Trees Atlanta's "Conserve the 4-0-Forest" project will help you understand how invasive plant species have become a big problem in areas across Atlanta. Our Forest Restoration team will share with you the history of restoration work at Trees Atlanta and the different neighborhoods they actively worked with to restore the native plants of the area.
We reviewed 5 invasive plant species that our staff work on removing as a way to mitigate their impact: Kudzu, Chinese Wisteria, Chinese Privet, English Ivy, and Monkey Grass Learn how you can work on removing them from your backyard, neighborhood, or local park. This video will help you learn how you can get involved in the restoration of our urban forest across metro Atlanta.
What is Conserve the 4-0-Forest?
4-0-Forest was our new volunteer event promoting restoration work and community engagement in all 12 districts of Atlanta over two days. This event emphasized the importance of removing invasive plant species from our greenspaces, forests and our own backyards. We hoped to create a sense of community, stewardship, and place in local greenspaces.
