A Rama Nayak is like the patron saint of Udipi restaurants in Mumbai. He started off his life in Mumbai (then Bombay) as a cook for bachelors at the Saraswat Colony in Santacruz. He eventually opened his own restaurant - A. Rama Nayak’s Udipi Shri Krishna Boarding - bang opposite Matunga station in 1942. Not much has changed in the quaint, charming place since then.

I've been here, the owner was honestly pretty rude to me , instead of saying the same thing in a direct and polite way he chose to be rude and he's been this way to many others . POLIETNESS COMES 1ST .

Used to visit at least once a month during my stay in Bombay from Oct 1990 to March 1992. Travel from Mulund to Mathunga just to eat Lunch comparable to what we get in my native Bengaluru.

Udupi rama nayak just step out of the Matunga railway station that is matunga east and look to your left from the ticket window on the building on the left on the 1st floor is the udupi rama nayaks

Been to this place today for lunch. Had to wait for more than 30 minutes. Food was definitely not worth the wait. Wouldn't recommend this place at all. 👎🏼
