Lung Transplant Recipient Tells Her Story 

The Vanderbilt Lung Institute has a track record for having one of the shortest wait list times in the region for its patients waiting for a lung transplant. Listen to a conversation between Vanderbilt's Dr. Ciara Shaver, a pulmonologist and critical care physician and Cynthia, a patient who received a lung transplant in September 2020. Cynthia may hold the record for the shortest wait in history for an organ transplant. The same day she was placed on the waiting list Cynthia received a call about a perfect match and her surgery would be later that day!
