Have had the opportunity to go there! 🙏🏼Very appreciative of the splendor of the architecture and the landscape!! Real ☮️ out retreat ! In fact Prince Charles was fascinated by the place on one of his tours to the place and may have shared his photography in a book 📕!

I miss Sri Lanka a great deal. I travelled there often whilst an expat living in Chennai. We honeymooned on the isle too. I also had the great pleasure of Meeting Geoffrey at a private party in Chennai. I will admit though I was probably too young to realise the full extent of his achievements and fame.I am determined to return though and visit Lunuganga one day.

Some parts of it look run down. It should be maintained better.

I think the vision and the intention of Bawa was that after his death the jungle should merge with the property

@@DestinationSriLanka It's a good sentiment, but unless he left specific instructions, then it's up to the trustees to maintain the property for future generations to view, and this should be the property as it was during his lifetime and not in a run down state. it doesn't have to look brand new, but can be maintained.
