I got to meet Lupe Fiasco the other day in one of the most UNBELIEVABLE ways and had to share (I don't do social media like that so here it goes). Just two days ago I was leaving home from work on my bike. Before I peddled off, I pressed play and put the song "SEATTLE" from Lupe's "Drill Music In Zion" album on my portable loud speaker that I was listening to 'before' my shift and I was off riding.. I got to the very next block from my job, cross the street, then right before I started peddling heavy I see this person on the opposite corner in front of a store who had a mask on and put his hands up as I was passing him. I assumed it was someone that knew me ( I was still basically next to my job so.. duh.. ) so I crossed the street over to him with "SEATTLE" playing on MAX volume. As I approached, they put their hands down then before I was able to say anything, the person pulled their mask down to reveal that it was LUPE FIASCO HIMSELF!!!!.. What are the ODDS!!? I couldn't BELIEVE it was actually him for a moment but it was in fact him! We were vibing out for a moment listening to his track in real time... I felt like I was seeing a good friend that I haven't seen in a long time frfr! To make it MORE unbelievable, is one of my friends who I haven't seen in over 2 WHOLE years (fellow artist as well) sees me while he's driving in traffic an pulls up for less than a minute to say whats up to me.. and my reply was "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO THIS IS RIGHT HERE"!! lol. Lupe and I spoke for several minutes after that which seemed like only seconds. He said he was going to MIT ( I found out later on that he is teaching a course there which I had no idea ) I told him how amazing and how appreciated he is and some other stuff then after a few hand shakes and a picture he had to keep it moving ( I had to get a pic because NOBODY other than the homie that pulled up would have believed this story! ). I am beyond blessed to have met one of my favorite Artists in the way that I did. BIG SALUTE to you LUPE!!.. Hopefully I'll see you again in person, if not, I'll be checking for your next show in Boston! Your new album is FIRE btw! - David

If you read this, just wanna say that I took my son to see you in Austin a few years back at the Wille Nelson theater and since he was the only kid they let us sit alone in the balcony so we got to say what up to you and you looked up and nodded and my son still remembers he was 7! 😆 I ended up driving after the show from Austin back to Houston and got there around 3-4 in the morning I was tired as a mugg and I carried his big ass up the stairs lol but when we woke up later that day my son said he had the best time ever! Since then you’ve been his favorite and we will never forget that! FnF up!
Lupe manages to be a breath of fresh air, a throwback, an Olympic level lyrical athlete, and on some other shit. Effortlessly And Concurrently. Mans built different.
Been playing this album for 3 days straight and still can't get enough! It's criminal that Lupe is not not mentioned among K.Dot and J. Cole as G.O.A.T.s because he is actually a notch level higher than both of them lyrically.
Autoboto is a reference to Jazz the Autobot that happened to be a Porsche CARERRA. The Era era era part is the sound that the car makes when you start it up. Jazz is Lupe's fav Transformer
I listened to Drill Music in Zion the other day. I never been a huge Lupe fan, but I always heard people talking very highly of him. I wasn't amazed the first couple tracks, but as the album progressed holy shit... it was like everything just clicked and I understood why he's so praised. Truly a phenomenal lyricist. I was sleeping HARD.

Lupe Fiasco is one of the best of all-time and no doubt one the 🐐s. Food And Liquor, The Cool and Food And Liquor 2 are easily some classics that every hip hop fan should have heard. Give this man the love and respect he deserves 😤. Glad he's still blessing us with good music 🙏.

Apparently he did even write, just him spitting on the mic and redoing them until he was content with em....second verse is about how he's his own ghost writer.....cuz he no longer writes....Lupes concepts are amazing 💯
One of the greatest shows I've ever been to was Lupe perform at a liquor company sponsored concert in West Palm Beach bandshell (think it was Bacardi) and he absolutely KILLED the show then said he doesn't drink or support liquor consumption and was donating his proceeds to a local youth shelter... bruhh you could heard a pin drop... he literally sobered every person up in that 3000++ crowd... then suddenly the crowd went wild and applauded his courage and realness... Lupe is the absolute TRUTH!!!
Lupe Fiasco quickly became one of my favorite rappers again with this song and DMIZ. I say again because I stopped listening for a while after DROGAS Light, which I actually enjoy. I remembered how I loved bumping ITAL, Words I Never Said, Battle Scars, B**ch Bad, The Show Goes On, Lamborghini Angels, Gold Watch. Tetsuo & Youth is a masterpiece, higher art than regular music. I just can't put it in the same league as regular rap, that album truly belongs with the greatest rap albums ever made.
