Lupe said that after he got off the live, when Royce called him a “b*tch,” that he texted Royce (Royce even confirmed this and said he ignored it), and told him that that energy wasn’t meant for Royce, it was meant for Lux and Mook. And Royce still went at Lupe. So gloves off. Also, Lupe confirmed that he freestyle that diss off the top lol nuts. Don’t get me wrong, Royce is one of my favorite rappers, but he’s been disappointing with the way he’s been acting smh I saw someone call him “Moist da IG”

They apparently had an argument during their podcast and Royce made that comment that made the convo go left. Understandably, Lupe was extremely offended. So they edited the argument out of the podcast. Royce bringing it up in his diss to Lupe just pissed Lupe off even more, on top of making bars about shooting children.

I was to until I remembered they had the first confrontation on Mickey's live. Then there was the live with Lupe and the EODUB rappers. After that Royce posted the meme with the karate guy trying fight a person that had a gun, was shot and ended up in heaven. In Return Lupe posted the video were he was doing karate and pulled a gun from his waistband, then Royce posted the video from Beef where he was with the guy holding the gun and calling somebody a f*cking f*ggot. Lupe posted a video the he referred to in the song where he was the couch surrounded by guns. All of this has since been deleted.. I think all of this is based on clashes they had on the podcast. They've been feeling a ways about each other and this was the perfect opportunity to get somethings off their chest.

I love Royce but I felt the same way but he wasn’t saying much. There were a few lines I liked but most the shit was simple lines or just a bunch of Instagram wisdom that rhymes. I hate when people also try to create the narrative that Royce’s shit was complex or deep. Like “ I’m with all the smoke, Matt Barnes Sha’Carri Richardson” isn’t that hard to catch it’s actually super simple and made me roll my eyes when I heard it. I’m just waiting until Royce replies , if he replies.

To be honest, you really had to be living under a rock if you weren't aware that Lupe was a much better lyricist than Royce, that's what made Royce go so deep and personal and attacking Lupe's character on the podcast, he felt so insecure that most people thought that Lupe was that much better. Royce can be very good but Lupe is an all-time great lyricist, he's in a tier of his own that Royce doesn't belong in.

Guys like Tech nine or have more multisyllables and speed wise can rap circles around him but the bars are no where as deep with multiple meanings. big pun, aesop rock, eminem etc different styles but top tier in their own right

Royce has really become more of song writer since "layers". His last 3 solo projects have focused more on autobiographical storytelling, song structures, and concepts. Now with him being more of a studio head and producer it seems like he's forgotten how to tap back into his battle rap roots.
