She was using the disorder to sound scary though, the intent is obvious just by looking at everyone in the comments saying how scary the voice is. Depicting medical conditions as horrific and threatening contributes to stigma against people who have these conditions, media doesn't exist in a vacuum. For example antagonists in horror are often depicted as mentally ill, which enforces a negative perception of mentally ill people. I still think her performance was amazing though, nothing wrong with being critical of the things you like.

@@utena2 may as well criticize horror films that use big strong men as monsters since that stigmatizes big guys. Criticize the clones in this film as moving not right to elicit a horror effect as stigmatizing people with gait and walking difficulties. Criticize the dad clone as stigmatizing against low iq people and people whom cannot really speak. There's alot you can say if that's the case

@@utena2 This director doesn't do normal horror he does psychological and she understood this and thought of the horrors they are going through would affect her character she meant not to add to the stigma but bring light to things sure it may not have been the best setting but she did a great job

You can really tell the depth of Maturity of a person when u watch a Movie with them...that's for sure. I was sitting next to a guy and what it looked like to be a first or second Date... And she laughed at every single Part of the movie. **I think she was alittle drunk. The guy was so irritated. Like she definitely was not the one.

@@kaylynp.williams8650 If you are too self conscious you won't be able to give a good performance. You've got to let yourself float with the flow. My process is finding voice, gait, posture, expression of the character etc, and then inhabit the character after blocking the personality. I like to transform completely from what I naturally am intrinsically. And personally I don't find most Hollywood acting good. It's a formula that's trite and stale. You have actors playing different characters in their own skin and mannerism. This is why most outstanding performances come from non-US born, foreign actors.

@@firstblessings8777 Not sure what you meant by that. But I do agree technique is very important as a vocalist. Especially when you trying to emulate a specific voice type or sound. Staying healthy vocally is important especially when your job depends on it.
