It’s good to have a weekend away with likeminded people. Sometimes these events can be just that bit of luck by dropping your lure right on their heads.👍👍 nice one.

Think you're right there Bobby. It's always a challenge fishing a water you've never been to but you're always hoping for lady luck to be on your side! We had a great time though and we really enjoyed it. Tight lines mate.

Yup, doing the Rutland waters comp on the 2nd of December with the LAS, looking forward to it 👍

Enjoyed that Sean, that winning fish was a stunner. Hats off to whoever took the photo as well. I've been out twice so far and had 2 blanks!! I'm bloody Useless!!😅 first day had a dropped run and yesterday I didn't have a touch. I deadbait and usually pick one or 2 swims a session and will groundbait with chopped up fish. I stayed mobile yesterday and moved every half hour so didn't bother groundbaiting and didn't get any encouragement at all from it. Think I'll stick to what I know works in future!!

Thanks paul 👍🙂 it was a new venue to us and my friend matt was a total newbie to boating so it takes time it was also a massive body of water so to be honest i was chuffed to get two 😁 everybody blanks mate ive always said it pike fishing is not easy especially on rivers just keep plugging away that float will dip and when it does it,ll be like an electric shock to the heart keep going mate 🤞🙂

@luredbyesox big waters are always a challenge to me as well, especially big featureless reservoirs. but all the blanks are worth it when you wind into a solid fish. I'll head out again next week and give it another go. Found a new place to try as well that's supposed to hold big pike so here's hoping.....

They certainly do take some time to build up a picture of where to head a certain times of yr 🙂 it does get me though everytime that float goes absolutely love this time of year 😁🐊👌
