Don’t you just love people who come in a boat and fish exactly where you’re fishing. I had it happen to me more than once, the last one who did it I cast straight at him , I hit him, the hook caught on his jacket, he called out hold on and I gave an almighty pull and ripped his jacket. The fish you caught took a little while to survive but good to see it swim away in the end. Cal that was a good session.
Great to see the bass are well in Guernsey, I used to fish them marks went I lived over there 20 years ago I still have the old poppers I used to use. Hopefully I'll get back to the Rock next summer
Lovely fish Cal. May I ask what date this was? Here in Southeast England we are still taking bass on lures which is unheard of, a good possibility of lure fishing into November!
@@FISHINGWITHCAL lol yeah I know what you mean mate I had a 4lb 10oz a few weeks back and isn’t wasn’t long after I wanted to catch a 6lb plus fish 🤦🏻♂️😂
Excellent mate. Work stopping fishing so it’s nice to come home and watch a decent video on why we do it. Great video…….. that release was so good too.
Good video, but why on earth are you using such a heavy rod for lure fishing? Those big Samson rods are for thumping out big lures into wind in really rough conditions.
Why are they only made for that? They're rated 30-100g. Im using a 45g lure. The length of the rod is irrelevant really, other guys use long lure rods in the Uk too. I do most of my lure fishing on light gear however, I've been using the Samson rod in all kinds of conditions, from flat calm to windy and rough to get a proper feel for it. A week after this session i was throwing out 50g lures into 30mph head winds. Something that would've been much harder work with a short light rod.
Thanks. It’s only a 32GB card that I use in that one. I had issues with a 125GB card in my gopro 9 so downsized. That camera is a gopro 7 which has always played tricks on me. The updates don’t seem to fix the issues either.
I’ve had lots of bass on the 21g bomb on my lighter rod. I haven’t used the candle. The shads do really well. I have a 50g enticer in mullet but I’ve not used it much yet. I also have the Shad in 45g & 50g which are really nice.
Noob here. How come you’re stood so high up and then have to climb down when you hook? Why not just cast from the bottom point? Loving your vids mate 👍🏻
Yeah I agree with all the other points made here. I like to be higher up on rocks most of the time to be honest. That way I can see straight into the water if fish follows the lure etc. you can also work the lure well with the rod tip down. The main reason for being up on the rocks at this spot is, because I’m using a 12ft rod, if I’m down near the water I won’t be able to cast properly having rocks right behind me. On top of the rocks I have a clear space so don’t have to worry about snagging the lure on a rock when I’m casting.
