The conditions seemed just right for some bass lurefishing on this day, so I ventured down to a mark armed with my heavy lure rod, the Samson Longcast 30-100g.
After a bit of a slow start and no indications of any fish, I decided to move along the rocks and fish into some shallower water. Casting into a crosswind, I was working the Patchinko 165 over some mixed ground when I finally had a take. Check out the video to see how this session went.

Good fish there cal I'm up in north Wales and it's not to good on the bass front tbh. hopefully few more bass will come up soon.🤞 Keep up the good work

Mate great upload, beginning to think grant has blessed these rod's,,, using mine this autumn has been a learning curve but a successful one. Trying to explain how light and responsive 12ft of rod feels is the difficult bit,, keep em coming Cal. Awesome Chanel 💯👍

Cheers mate. The 165 is great! It doesn’t seem like a huge lure once you’ve used it. Will be fine on a shorter rod with the right casting weight too.

There's one spot I go to, south coast of England that I only seem to get Bass when it's flat calm it's weird, another place only a few miles away is better when it's quite choppy so kind of standard. I had a "one that got away" moment today, didn't feel like a Bass though.

That rod just seems an awkward length when your trying to land fish. I've seen Grant's vids and know he is using it to access fish at a distance with heavier lures, it just seems at odds with how and where yout fishing. Sorry for being critical, I love your vids and enjoy them all.

Yeah I’ve had to explain this a lot of times already. The rod isn’t designed for this type of fishing no. I intend to use it abroad but in the meantime, I’ve been using it over here to get a feel for it.

Not many. Maybe 7 or 8, ranging from the 100 to 165 👍🏼
