So here I'm using UV torch light for fly tying - not the most efficient thought! Now I bough cheap nail art UV LED lamp and it works much faster and make the coat much stronger !! It is the glass fiber and epoxy laminate - it is used to make circuit boards - so your best bet would be electronic part shop - could be second hand still usable 😉

It is my go to sealer - cianoacrylate/super glue 🙂 it's very effective on balsa wood as hardens it significantly aside of sealing 😉 any how once that sorted I also apply layer of epoxy(so the super glue is more of a strengthener than sealer) for smooth surface before painting/foiling :)

I dip in lacquer sand and sealer then epoxy

Ten model akurat sklejalem żywica 5min z racji skomplikowanego stelażu i steru, normalnie sklejam na super glue - ale ma on to do siebie że tylko przytkniesz i już sklejone, jak krzywo to już nie rozłączysz !! Tutaj nie chciałem ryzykować. A potem już standardowo kąpiel w super glue dla utwardzenia balsy i standardowo żywica przed folią, żeby ładnie przylegała 👌

@@SuchaJerkCustomLures czyli lakieru nie stosujesz , sama żywica wystarcza.

@@artuchigo3744 zamiast lakieru jest super glue: gruntuje + utwardza a potem żywica 😉 w lakierze już nie maczam bo za dużo strat i zbyt słaba ochrona przed uszkodzeniem

Hi 🙂 I'm not convinced if I should try, I have no access to any boat, even freshwater, so no way for me to check if the lure would actually swim correctly in the trolling, and I don't want to teach to make lure that is not tested, potentially doesn't work well and many people might lose time and materials trying to copy it 🤷 that's why I only make tutorials of lures that's are tried and tested by me 😉

Hi again 👋 two reasons: for the harder wood like bass wood or ash, it's simply a sealant, so I can attach the weight and test it in the water tank. For balsa aside of being sealant, additionally it hardens the wood significantly. Of course there are other wood sealers, but this one is instant, after 2min I can continue work on the lure

Well is not essential but indeed would speed up the process 😃 when I will be done moving to new basement/workshop I'll look into it 😉

@@SuchaJerkCustomLures I make crank baits we cut the baits on a band saw and punch the bills on a press. That coping saw looks like it would be a pain. We also use lexan for most of our bills. I’ve found circuit board cuts pretty easy with some heavier duty scissors.

@@timg185 thanks 🙂 I very rarely cut custom bills - normally I have them cut to my specs on CNC machine - but thank you for the tip I might try the scissors option 😉

Sure moulding out of silicone form is also idea 🙂 still will be fairly difficult to prepare the wire harness even for the mould, unless you go with screw eyes 😉
