I saw Luther in concert back in 1987 in New Orleans. I was totally speechless and spell bound afterwards. I have never experienced anyone in my life who sings his songs in a live venue perfectly to profection and better than he sings them in a recording studio, or even better. He is a Masterful singer and Musician. I haven't seen any artist measure up to his level of vocal control, pitch, enunciation, smooth expression, timing and transition with melodies as Luther does. He makes it looks so effortless.
That man, dammit!!! The vocal agility and control. Man, I remember being completely and utterly mesmerized by his music as a child growing up in the late 80s and 90s.
This song is from Luther's 1991 album "Power Of Love", and this is my favorite song from it. And that album is one of my favorites and this is still one of the best songs sung by Luther.
I use to get in my living room and blast this song. I would get a 6 minute workout from dancing to this song. My neighbors thought I was crazy. His skills and voice were anointed. I miss Luther.
I was blessed enough to see Sir Luther at the Rosemont in Chicago where he Sang The Rush for the first time, never in my life before or since that have I seen the tidal wave of emotion that came from the crowd it was a tsunami I was Spellbound! Rest in peace sir Luther in Paradise you are truly missed

Luther's vocal dexterity was on another level. No one comes close. One of my favourite albums of Luther. Blasting this in September, 2022 and just brings back memories. Awesome production by long time ally,Marcus Miller.

I was the chic who right before he started to sing "Power Of Love", screamed so load that he just stopped and looked at me with that beautiful smile of his..lol I've been to many, many concerts, but that one was like no other I've been too. He sang as good or even better live :)

It will be almost impossible for us to find another entertainer with his natural talent for bringing a taste of paradise to the stage. In a generaton full of great singers he was "The Highlander". THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!
Nothing is hard when talent becomes second nature. I am so glad I had the chance to see this brother perform on a couple of occasions with terrific seats. Rest in Power Mr. Vandross. I still get a rush when I hear your voice. 🙏🏽
