I think the simplicity of the actions makes this game approachable while the incredible depth of decision space is where the complexity arises. I’ve watched a couple of play through videos and it really makes sense which is very important for me to back a heavier game. The theme and iconography also help greatly. Thank you for sharing a clear perspective of how this game plays. I’m definitely backing it.
This is a lovely game. Thematically, it feels like Lacrimosa meets Shuffle and Swing. Artistically, it reminds me of Unconscious Mind. This game has real table presence. It has lovely game flow. You both Showcased it well. I'll be keeping an eye out for this one. Add to Cart. Thank you both.
Fell absolutely in love with Distilled the first time I played it online and in person reinforced how great it is, so it was a no brainer for me to back Luthier. Can't wait to try it out!
What a well orchestrated demonstration of this great euro game (pun intended) It looks like my cup of tea since the strategy and planning looks well designed I'll be backing after another great video. Keep doing what you do I'll always watch it ;)
Great game. I like this version of partially hidden worker placement. Strategically, I think the top priority in the early game is to advance up the repair track. There are very few ways to gain action efficiency, and doubling the efficiency of the bench actions is huge. Getting 1 assistant per round to use with the 3 worker is ideal for 2 track advancements per round.

The game looks very beautiful. But given that it is already financed and how small the savings are for the retail and deluxe version pledges. And the fact that shipping and taxes will more than match that amount of saving..... I am gonna patiently wait for the retail version coming to a boardgameshop near me.

Worried about what happens when those beautiful wooden tokens get scuffed and marked? That would really impact the game. Plus I really don’t think the guitar to check who will go first is needed. It’s so much more convenient to simply slide the tokens to the side and check quickly what the order is
I played the game on tts and must say, the numbered tokens are not that great. A lot of moving pieces around just to mark which action you will take, in which order and at what strenght.
Best teaching skills in the industry. Game itself looks nice but I don’t see anything innovative here sadly. Just a combination of things we have seen countless times
@@BeforeYouPlay I'm the Dev for Luthier and can confirm that each inspiration spent only reduces the price of an individual resource cube, not multiple purchases of that same resource. There is no minimum too, so you are free to buy things using only inspiration if you want to. I'll feed this back to the designer and rules editor to make that section clearer. @@richardwoods4995 doesn't that make inspiration kinda redundant though? since it's basically just one money. and it seems it applies in other places as well. so basically inspiration = money.
@@Darkhan9 In the Market and when you pay to access tier II/III cards it is effectively one money, yes. But inspiration can also be used to boost your performance result and discount repairs, something money can't do.
@@BeforeYouPlay ahh yeah I see that now. He forgot to say it during his calculations so I got confused XD. He said the wrong math but was at the right cash so all is right in the world.
I was excited fo 19 minutes there during the teach. Then I see you have to roll dice for performing. Over and out. FFS, I wish they would stop using this mechanic in eurogames.
Thematically, the dice are there to emulate the things that could differ from performance to performance like in real life. I might myself not use the dice since I don't like luck either, but I won't write off the whole game just for that one thing. Depends on personal tolerance for house rules and preference though.
We purposely designed Luthier so that Performances were an *optional* strategy. I've seen many playtested games where some players don't do a performance (i.e. roll dice) the entire game, and win just as often as others who do! Just wanted to make sure that was clear, that you could ignore it (or 100% mitigate it!)!
