Michele, your candles are tunneling, they need to melt all the way to the sides, and don’t forget to trim your wicks to 1/4”, keeps the soot down.

Yes! Super important to when you start the first time, trim your wick, then allow the candle to burn for many hours sometimes 4-6 hours to allow ALL the wax to pool, then to turn it off, dip the wick down into the pool of wax - prevents smoking

Oh and to clean a dusty candle I just use a cotton round with some rubbing alcohol on it.

I just learned that if you pour hot water into the candle jars once they are done, the leftover wax travels up top and after a few hours and it solidifies then you can pick it right up after pushing it gently from top. It comes as a perfect round chunk so you can even leverage that leftover wax using a wax melter afterwards. Super easy and not as scary as playing with knives which is the way I used to do.

To clean the tops of candles I use old stockings I’ve cut up. Just wrapping it around my finger and wiping and moving to a new bit of the stocking as you pick up the dust.

My system is Keep all in a giant drawer. I break them into seasons. And try to burn everyday. Currently for holiday small in Dinning room. Bigger in living room and one on top of stairs. So limit number out and burn what you have. Enjoy your abundance.

it’s ok to burn multiple candles from different areas of the house but make sure that the notes of each compliment each other. I find this helpful when I am having olfactory fatigue.

Another thing u can use is a candle warmer liquifies the wax so you can pour the extra wax into an ice cube tray.

I heard somewhere that having unlit candles in your home was really bad luck. So I always burn alittle bit , and then I don't stress about having too many. But I do rotate and try to store properly . ❤

Now I don’t feel so weird / alone anymore. I can’t get enough nest candles my fav 2 grapefruit and Amalfi Lemon and now I am burning for 3 hour and keeping the scent going on a candle warmer!! I also stick mine in the freezer. If you like the char/ wood smoke try Hearth. The Holiday is very soft gentle good for bedroom present but unobtrusive.

Hey Michele! A stand alone candle can be placed in a pair of pantyhose and gently rubbed to remove dust. For Candles in jars you can use a damp microfiber cloth. Just clean in one direction instead of back and forth to avoid damage. Hope this helps 😊

I have used boiling water to remove was from the jars. Boil water and pour into jar. Let sit and it softens the wax and the you can filter out the water and throw out the remaining wax. Then wash and rinse the jar.

Freezing is one way, but I clean my candlewax out by pouring boiling hot water in the glass, let it cool down when the wax has raised on top and cooled down and I just pick it up, usually its a round circle, and put the glass holder into the washing mashine to remove the smoke patterns.

To get rid of the leftover wax, pour boiling water, let it cool. The wax will melt n float on top of the water, then when it is cool, knock out the wax disc. It will be a perfect circle. Never ever pour the liquid wax n water mixture down the sink as it will harden n block the sink.

Goo gone is your friend when cleaning out candle jars. The freeze method is 👌🏾 although some wicks pop out wayyyy easier than others. Bath and Body Works ones are easy but Voluspa ones take some elbow grease.

I just put boiling water in the candle to get the wax off. Then all the wax floats to the top and you can get it out easier.

There’s something in the air because I just got into candles and I’ve purchased so much this month. It started with jo MALONE Orange Bitters and then Nest Holiday and Birchwood Pine. When I was looking into Nest Candles I found Homeworkx candles because the creators/owners of both are married. It was a slippery slope. I now have a collection, or a hoarding of candles.

You can use an alco-wipe to clean the top of your candles or just some isopropyl alcohol on a cotton pad.. just make sure you let the alcohol evaporate before you light it 😐 I have a glasshouse candle problem... not sure if they are an Aus/NZ thing though

🕯 🕯 🕯 You can NEVER have too many candles! The first thing I do in the morning is start my Nespresso then light a candle. I work from home and I have to have a candle burning when I’m home. It’s the flickering flame and intoxicating scent.🔥 👃🏼 I HAVE to have it! It soothes my soul. AND I GO THROUGH A LOT OF CANDLES! I typically start and finish one before starting another so I understand your anxiety @michelewang!🥺😂 Right now I have candles burning in our hearth room, main bedroom and my daughter’s room. I typically go for the largest candles I can find, because I go through them quickly, but I’m super picky about the scent. idk if this the "official" way to do things, but I just use magic tape to remove the dust from my wax 😅 I just tape and peel and as it lifts the dust comes with it, kinda like a lint roller.

Official Candle Queen! I see no problem with your collection. We all seem to collect a lot of something. I have a weakness for Le Creuset pots. Well cast iron in general. I LOVE my Field cast iron skillets. No one is allowed to touch them except me or their must be heavy supervision. I have issues LOL Candles would be cheaper for me LOL

I definitely have a candle problem. I always have back ups when o get near the bottom i get anxious 😂. My new favorite brand is Rx Candles. They are hand poured artisan. Thymes Frasier Fir is my all-time FAVORITE candle!! 🌲 (Very closely followed by Diptyque's Baies, which I currently have burning in our home library! 🍓 I also love Jo Malone's.) I first smelled it years ago when I was staying at Torrey Pines -- their entire lobby was scented with Frasier Fir and I was immediately hooked. 💗 (I bought so many in their gift shop and was burning them in our room throughout our entire stay!) I so enjoyed seeing your video today when I got home from the hospital. I had a second carpal tunnel procedure done on my wrist. Now I can dream of pretty and fun things. @greymainer. Oh, yes, please be careful of using a sharp knive to remove the candle leftovers. Your hand can slip and slide down the blade. Better to use a screwdriver or non-sharp knive. Being a yenta.

This video makes me want to light a candle 😄 Don't want to add to your problem, but if you ever feel like it, you can take a look at Neom Perfect Peace, it smells like Christmas but not the typical Christmas, just soft and gentle and strangely breezy. Thank you for showing us how to clean the candle jars, I didn't know I could just pop them into the microwave 😅 The freezing method seems to be a lot more work. If you want to avoid the wax creating a well, you could try burning the candle for long enough so that the wax will melt all the way to the edge. That will help the wax burn evenly next time, consequently preventing wastage and saving cleaning effort 😄 Try it and you won't come back to the welled candles anymore. 😊 My IG is aurinkochi, fingers crossed I will get either the Otherland Black Velvet or the Dior bag 😁

Have some which I haven't burned for probably 2 years, and I just keep getting more. Also ppl gift them to me because they know how much I love them.
