Actualy i love the mix of specific brands to make outfits, Example ,i love Louis Vuitton belt, it give a nice touch to the outfit, i'm not for the brand , but i'm for the monograms, i hate when peoples dress to flex, and i love when peoples dress to make art. Often peoples try to act like i flex if there is something related to a brand, meanwhile what i do is, just i wear what i like and mix and match. Sometimes i even go and play with specific brand pallete, which mean, a LV belt with a combo of a brown shirt and trousers, with a western khai hat, and it looks like is actualy a whole set, which is not. If you got my idea, i love to do that, is like i put my self to follow specific rules. Gucci also, Green, Brown, Red. Is really funny to try. And sometimes when i'm not in mood ,i just go for what other colors i want, but mostly i love to make Balenciaga inspired outfit, which is full black, with some crazy glasses, or touches of red. But is a bit hard, as i wear formal clothes all the time, so mixing and matching formal for that is hard a bit.

Because they look good by having quality tailored clothes. He is correct, luxury brand names are for poor people. But you can look put together by buying mid-tier mayerials, having it tailored, making sure the cut and colors fit you. They can hire stylists to do the work for them, but anyone can research this on their own. Most neighborhoods have a tailor. I would actually recommend investing in a quality haircut instead. The watches and jewelry work more like art pieces, they are only valuable if you can afford the insurance to replace them, but actually have massive markups of 1000%+, and unless they are stolen, lose a lot of value on the resale. The diamond engagement ring is considered the most successful marketing campaign of all time. Diamonds aren't rare,their sale are just restricted. Which is why DeBeers has campaigned hard against lab created diamonds and immediately buys up any land where they are found. A lot of these people only stay wealthy by not spending money. Expensive homes and yachts are stupid expensive to maintain, and can easily put millionaires into the poor house if their income is not managed properly. Which is why normies don't understand why there are so many abandoned mansions. Despite what we think, outside of old money in a handful of people, millionaires hang onto their wealth an average of 20 years. Which is why the lower class doesn't understand why some millionaires seem to work constantly, as opposed to only earning their money once and retiring. Maintaining wealth can be a cost in itself when you have to pay so many people just to manage it.

I remember dating a girl who eventually became my wife. Her cousin was someone important at NBC. He invited us to a function over at Rockefeller center one day. So I'm wearing a suit with a Polo tie with the little horse pattern all over it and my girlfriend is carrying one of her LV bags. We really though we were being fashionable. He walked in, looked at us and said..."please change that tie and leave that bag at home. People with real money don't dress like that. You don't want to stick out." As I look back at that day, he was absolutely correct. We would of stuck out. So this video made me remember that conversation. Which was a real eye opener for us.

@SuitedSkaterLion

I think that always the Broke peoples that try to act rich make the quote you said about "Establishing a reputation", because most of high brands don't try to estabilish anything but to be different from other brands, mostly the costs are because they try to come with unique ideas, and also the crafting take alot of time and is expensive as in most case they try to use the best stuff. Is like you go to a Tailor for a suit or you buy a suit from shein, you know there will be a difference, that's with the brands too, idk where it come from that peoples say that the brands cover you in logos, look for all brands there are clothes that have the brand, and there is clothes they make with the brand tag inside the clothes not outside...

@@SuitedSkaterLion I think you you missed the point of what I was saying and also what was said in the video. Many Luxury brands, for a fact, entice people to “build a reputation” with the brand by buying thousand and thousands of dollars of their product in order to receive special invitations to buy the more exclusive pieces common folk do not have the privilege to buy direct from the retailer. E.g.: IN THE VIDEO Curiosities says “you cannot just walk into Hermes and buy a Birkin Bag” that’s because you have to BUILD A REPUTATION in order to buy one direct from Hermes. Want proof? 13:26 Here's his BARELY PARAPHRASED animal analogy and the use of the word _douchy_ compared to the plagiarized source: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FGDB22dpmwk.html 18:33 Here's the reference to the $625 featureless hat from *Succession* and _"stealth wealth" conversations:_ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FGDB22dpmwk.html He also uses the exact same bag clip from that show to make the exact same point using barely paraphrased words. These are examples I identified from that one source and the other bits are very likely stolen from other videos, including the one you pointed out.

Luxury fashion is for anyone who wants to partake in luxury fashion. Buy and wear what you want, you only live once. People with millions of dollars in the bank buy and wear that stuff, and so do people who had to scrimp and save to treat themselves. One isn't better than the other.

To be honest this so America's problem. Or "work is valued high" society. I live in Poland and mechanics or truck drivers don't earn enough to buy shoes for $1,400. And we don't have an issue with kids running in Sephoras as this topic was showing up on my feed recently. Luxury brands are either for business people who want to show how serious they are or fashion and showbiz/influencers. Anyway you look at prices in a different way if on minimum wage those shoes are your two months salary. And our economy is not even that bad don't get me wrong. If you ask working people here what would they do if they had $10 000 to spare most would overpay their mortgages. And waiting to get a bag? Please, my parents and grandparents were waiting in queues to get basic food products and buying things because they were available not necessary needed because you could trade them later. Fun times (not really). Hopefully this perspective from a country with a different historical background was interesting for you as your was for me. Cheers from Poland ❤ your video randomly appeared on my feed.

I bought a vintage LV bag. I love the quality of it and it goes with everything I wear like jeans and a t shirt. You can run the bag over with a truck and it will withstand the abuse. I bought it used because I can afford a new one, but the vintage one is just as good. I bought it because I like it, not to "look rich" haha. I wear it with whatever I wear daily and believe me I don't wear designer everything. Too much is tacky anyway.

In order to afford a 11k jacket you either need to have the cash laying around or have good enough credit for a line of credit of 15k up. I don’t know not even 1 single poor person that has that good of a credit, that good of a credit line or has 11k to spare in a jacket. I would say middle class yes, they have that money but they’re not rich and they can afford those pieces, but saying poor people pay for that stuff is stupid. I know tons of rich people that are insanely flashy and are worth several millions of dollars driving rolls Royce’s and being as flashy as they can. In my opinion billionaires are the ones not flashy, poor people can’t afford even if they want so their market is the counterfeit one and middle class and high class are buying those stuff

I think that was a great video and really showcased how the industry promotes their brand. For me personally, I support brands that have high quality products that last for a long time. That doesn’t always equate to cost. Cheers mate.

This has been talked about forever. Everyone knows diamonds are a scam. But try to marry a girl without a diamond ring. Everyone know buying a luxury car is gonna but you in debt. But try to let anyone take you seriously in a 2005 camry. Human beings are visual creatures and judgemental. You have less than 5 seconds before someone already made a judgement upon you. If you wear designer you are placed in high society

You can't get wealthy by spending 1000s of dollars in luxury goods. You can't buy freedom but you can build it. I have zero debt and nobody can tell because I'm still office clothes I bought 8 years ago and drive a Hyundai. I love the feeling of security and the idea that I can buy stuff but that I refuse to compared to actually buying stuff. Invest in experiences I feel is the best place to spend money. This will sound hypocritical, but I will NEVER buy luxury designer clothes with bold logos and branding. But I do own 5 designer sneakers I bought all on sale at Nordstrom. The reason for my sneakers purchase is I could not find an elevated pair of non-designer sneakers that are dressy to wear out. I didn't want to wear my gym sneakers so I purchased 5 sneakers to rotate with outfits. I own a pair of Ermenegildo Zegna $350 Navy, Salvatorre Ferragamo $167 white, 2 pairs of PRADA Downtown sneakers $642 each (green/white) and (red/black) and Tod's $417 Black. As you read, each is a different colorway to elevate different styles. I invested $2400 for all 5 sneakers. I own no designer bags, wallets, or clothes. I wear these sneakers to elevate outfits. I have no debt and have savings. I don't want to look rich nor do I want to flash and flex. I just want to look polished and simplistically elevated.

I don’t understand why people feel the need to advertise what they’re wearing. Dangerous. For decades teenagers have been losing their lives when they got killed over an item of clothing that someone wanted and was going to get their hands on at any cost, certain brands of jackets, trainers smartphones.

I never understood why people felt they had to "look rich". It just makes you an easy target to get robbed. Might as well put a sign on your back that says, "rob me, im rich." Thats why so many people in the hood get robbed and killed, cause their flashing their chains, Jordan's, and flaunting their physical cash on their stupid social media's just asking to get robbed.😂

Thank you for the video. I’m not attracted to luxury brands because I’m past that stage (50 yo) and I prefer clothes or bags that are classic and with good quality. When I see someone with something with a big logo on it, it screams low income. It’s so obvious. People need to be aware of this. You explained the tactics of those brands very well and I hope that lots of people will make better decisions regarding the way they spend their money because they will be aware that they got influenced without realising it. Same for social media. When you don’t have a huge income, it’s not normal to buy things and make hauls all the time. The idea of those influencers is to make you want to buy … anything… again and again…. Save it for a real project like a house or education. NB you could do also the same kind of video with the “luxury” 600€ face creams (where a 20-30€ one will do the trick).

Plenty of young people and people in general wear things with logos who are no poor. It entirely spends on your circle, location, net worth, spending preferences and more. Sure, some may not have much money but that’s also subjective. I agree financial literacy is extremely important though.
