Today, I’m visiting the Luxury Home Builder Toll Brothers in Draper, Utah at Edelweiss. I'm NOT promoting this particular Home builder I’m simply giving you a tour of the home so you can see the many different styles of homes & floor plans. Rather you’re building a custom home or going with a track Home builder, these videos should provide you with loads of information to help you through the design process of your own home. Today I’m touring a 2-story home Toll Brothers calls the Porter. This home comes standard with 3,017 fin. sq.ft., & 4,091 total sq.ft. with an unfinished basement. Though, many builders will finish the basement to show you the full potential of their homes. This house comes standard with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. This is a Modern style elevation. Most Home builder’s offer multiple elevations. So, if you fall in love with a specific floor plan, but you don’t like how the home looks, don’t worry about it. Most builders will give you 3-4 unique exterior options so you can customize the home to your personal taste, but also to keep the homes in the neighborhood looking different from one another.

Amazing home! The only thing I want on a new home that this didn't have is a NextGen suite.(oh, and a pool) :-) And thanks for doing the corner shots of each room to really get a feel of the space.

Thanks for the compliment & for watching my video. I agree with you 100% on the swimming pool. I live in Northern Utah where there's not a long enough season otherwise I'd have a pool.

Well Ty, like you ive never met either of the Toll Bros whose name as i recall are Robert and Bruce. But they built their very first community in the same area of Bucks County as our office was located. In the late 60s the built the community, which was called Richboro Farms. And of coarse the over the next few years became the largest home builder in that area. And now they are one of the largest in the entire country. In their early years, Roberts wife Jane had a custom home building business of her own. I would often see her at various supply yards, always very friendly and pleasant. They still maintain offices in Huntington Valley Pa.

what does it mean when the home has finished square footage vs the total square footage?

I ask b/c the finished sq.ft was 3000, but the total is 4100

@@richardmartinez3342 Thanks for your excellent question. In this particular home that I toured, the builder finished the basement so it was actually 4100 finished sq. ft. In Utah, we have basments & builders don't normally finish the basement. They only do if you want to pay extra for it. So in this case, if you wanted to buy this floor plan from the builder it would come with an unfinished basement. So, you'd get 3000 finished leaving 1100 sq.ft. unfinished in the basement.
