Could Level 22 zombie pirates be better money hour than end game raids like tombs of amascut, chambers of xeric and theatre of blood? As more money makers are released in the wilderness, their value per hour also goes up. In this video I wanna showcase the effect these kind of money makers have and ask multiple content creators what they think about the next oldschool runescape update.

i have said this on a other video right after the update, always when they ad something big to the game they always add something new to the wildy to keep pkers happy. the same happened when konar slayer came out they had to add kristillia with the wildy chest keys. and being able to make good money with moons of peril or the coliseum was planned, but these zombie pirates where just added because and the worst and dumbest part is that they can drop a scroll or the chest can drop a anchoring teleporting scroll to stop teleporting from abyssal demons and those chaos monks, i think that scroll should be added to abyssal demons because their drop table can use a buff as they need a lvl 85 slayer req. so to give my final verdict jagex needs to stop putting in senseless updated for the wildy every time they bring out a big piece of content, but i say this the wildy boss rework was good.

the gp/h for endgame content is oly for 1% of the player who have end game gear and never die maintaining the raids/per hour mark the wiki suggest, but the other 99% of the players who still die at content or dont have BIS the wiki gp/h at the raids is far off(most people cant even complete 300invos with bofa). can count the people on my friend list on one hand that can complete 500 invos without dieing. some mods are just to disconnected from the community/reality and the game. i think at zombie pirates they just focussed so much on ''that the wildy needs to have something to compete with end game raids'' that they forgot they are only lvl 22 zombies at lvl 13 wilderness

I do think I have solution... that no one would profit from and even like, but I believe would make the game much more fun for most. I can also be incredibly incorrect. But I would love to have year long experiment on fresh world with these mechanics and see what it would do to the market, player population and bots distribution. Maybe next league...? It solves the gold/value issue from opposite side. Make most of the gear untradable, leave just mid (and i mean really average) skilling supplies, cosmetics like recolours and under average gear tradable. If there's little to no incentive to buy stuff you then don't need huge money-making method neither huge gold sinks. At start the prices of resources and cosmetics would drop down a lot. A lot lot. But if there's no need for gold, there's no need to content just for the sake of income. Bots would drop like flies as gold value would be at all time low and not needed. It would also increase satisfaction from unique drops for player and items would again start to increase in prestige. The only issue here is PVP/Pking. But that could be solvable by introducing equipment debuf (like 5-15% decrease to stats, higher cost of special attack and so on) on anything equipment dropped by player. Those would be permanent and stackable until complete degradation. That would make such items unique in their own way and not totally kill incentive to PK. There's one huge counterpoint. If equipment wouldn't be tradable it would mean getting any gear for anything would take many many hours more. That would deter tons of players, mostly average people that have hour two day max to play - myself included. We would need to increase drop rates massively. No average player like myself would spend hundreds of hours just to gear up for late-game (not even speaking about end-game) content. From my own perspective as I'm most casual player you can find spending . I did reach max cmb (not fully maxed account, I really hate fletching and other power-clicking for hours) and participated in raids for last year, but it took me around 7 years just to get there and I have around 100 ingame hours - around hour daily on average. With how much time I have between work, family and other stuff, without huge increase to drop rates this would make the game unplayable for me and I believe many others would be in same boat.

Raw gold vs uniques. I suppose less uniques circulating is better, but more raw gold still devalues them. Raw gold in theory would spread throughout the economy as a whole, raising inflation across all kinds of buyables. There is probably no way of tracking this, but it would be interesting to know where & how the RWT gold gets spent. I'm not sure which is worse for the player base as a whole, but keeping unique prices at a premium seems like the best option for those most dedicated to the game. I do agree the pirates probably need nerfed a bit, but so far I'm okay with the update.
@l0lan00b3

I agree on the uniques. You end up in a zulrah situation where it’s tough but normally shit for loot. Feels bad. Personally I believe this is and will always be an uphill battle. There is no real way to just remove enough of the coin coming in on a daily basis with out taking some drastic measures.

Any good wildy farm is literally just an update for bots... most players dont have accounts built for wildy farms, and arnt interested in risk when bots are already dominating the space with their accounts specifically built for that farm.... idk, seems like maybe they should focus on other stuff but thats just my opinion. Glad the bots are getting rich though :/

hot ass take. every "wilderness revival" style update, including zombie pirates, has been just flat bad for the game. they are always just alchable drops, theyre always way more gp/hr compared to anywhere else. theyre always overflowing with bots, because bots and botters dont care if they lose a few, compared to real players, who risk real time. they cause more inflation. period. and my hottest of takes. they could remove pvp from the wilderness entirely, leave it to specific areas and game modes. and the playerbase would lose... maybe 10k concurrent(REAL PLAYERS). obviously assuming we nerfed all of the drops from the previously discussed "revival" updates to take that into account. bottom line is, the wilderness is not, and will never be, what it was in 2007. its gone. the people playing this game now play it for different reasons than back then. and have different goals. even the jmods havent accepted that. but all these "high risk, high reward" wilderness updates do, is flood the game with drops from bot farms that dont care about dying once in a while. and real players still just dont want to deal with pvp.

This isn't that bad, is just a supply and demand thing. I used to play a main but GE just took the fun out of trading for me since I really liked the gameplay loop of "goin out" to do things like slayer tasks, quests, pvm, farm runs and then selling what I'd accumulated or buying what I needed while training bankstanding skills like crafting, herblore, fletching, etc. But the players voted to make the economy less social and more financial so I see no problems with something like zombie pirates for accelerating players to the midgame and helping them afford their bandos, armadyl, virtus and whathaveyou and I think with much more gp inflating the economy that actually adds scope for something like untradeable & degradeable gear accessible through npc shops locked behind medium difficulty quests like maybe something aimed at players with 41-80 defence or combat skills that could be purchased for a big upfront gp cost and repaired for hundreds of thousands. Whatever the methodology used, the challenge to balance with zombie pirates and other activities that inflate gp is to have more ways of deleting gp from the economy so adding items that are useful & convenient for main accounts at hefty upfront fees that can't be liquidated is the correct course of action. We've seen it with things like ge tax, the ability to purchase extra bank space, and more recent construction skill utilities requiring more marble, gold leaf & magic stones from stonemason npcs. Not everybody is going to deck out their poh and build a golden sink straight off the bat though so we just need more things for players to actually pay substantial prices for in shops that might not necessarily appeal as much to iron players like myself who most enjoy a long term planning playstyle. Like I think things like the pre-pot device should have been polled as a bank interface feature and hindsight 2020 most bank updates like gear loadouts, bank items, placeholders, item incinerator could of all comfortably come with a raw gp cost to unlock. I also think they could add a lot more cosmetic content that just straight up cost gp like more poh wallkits, npcs that can dye basic armors for a few mil, just anything that can add more fashionscape for people to spend their hard earned gp on that can put downward pressure on inflation. Maybe a shiny gold graceful outfit that uses a specular map or something that costs max cash to unlock. Just a variety of small things players can choose to invest in or aspire for that cannot be provided by other players; whilst a majority of mains do not bot a majority of bots are 'main accounts' Jagex is effectively a government responsible for managing the an economy, it requires a constant and multi-pronged approach to tackling inflation. Back in the day even though you could probably get a better deal on rune platelegs or a dscimmy by buying them from a player you'd sometimes have a hard time finding someone selling them or possibly even a dislike of the merchant playstyle and opt to buy a pair from an npc store as to not fund someone's business, I remember there were certain players I didn't like to trade with because I didn't like who they were as people and that was a fun part of p2p trading but as trading is now robotized so too has supply been automated by bots. There's nothing stopping a main acc going to ape atoll to buy his dscim, but Modern Tom does not want to go to ape atoll for his dscim nor does he want to look into the black and souless pixelated eyes of another player and put his hard earned gp directly into their dirty paws for a measly dscim, he wants it now so he can go pk some virgin losers with no friends that are probably unemployed or something.

OSRS has never 'stood' for the least interactive way of playing their game. I spend 99% of my time in the wilderness so if I afk I die. Same goes for TOA and CG which could be the appeal for some people. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate when I can afk a skill but your opinion of how the game is 'meant to be afked' is way off.

Who remembers when AFKing used to be against the rules? Yeah I don't think the Gower brothers envisioned OSRS in its current form at all, so it's wrong to say that OSRS being relaxing is what the game has always stood for. Personally, though I like the variety. I like having the choice to do very low intensity activities when I want to focus on something else, or high intensity when I want to feel engaged with the game. Supporting all preferred playstyles is what's going to help OSRS maintain a healthy playerbase. Make skilling great again!

As a “newer” players(I’ve played forever but only REALLY started playing in 2022) the barrier to entry for raiding feels like circular logic. You need a LOT of money saved up to start raiding. Unless you’re an extremely talented player, you’re gonna need 200m+ worth of gear to do solos of any raid. On top of the cost of gear, you’re gonna need about 100m in supplies. On top of the gear and supply costs you’re gonna need a ton of money saved up to pay for deaths. So imagine you spend a couple years building the gear and supplies and for example a 120m cash stack. You go start learning to raid and you’re really bad at first. How long can you pay 500k/death for? Oh and bonds are 12.5m btw so you got 2 weeks to learn the raid and get a drop that pays for everything or you’re basically back at square one.
@nebulouscat2210
@nebulouscat2210 20 дней назад
You know I love this comment, it actually speaks to the lack of info the game gives you to learn about this. I started doing raids a few days ago and I was surprised to learn that bare minimum for toa is really only about 15-20m in gear, as far as resources go, I bring two brews, two restores, and an antivenom, after you kill 2/4 boses you get a spirit that gives you free potions and buff items and you deposit your back. Also in the training mode at toa you get unlimited tries with no death costs:) So the entry is moreso the amount of time it takes you to get all the quests and content done to actually unlock the raid+time to grind the skills up to be good. As far as bond goes, I think that if you are attempting to become dedicated enough to learn a raid you should just get the premier membership, it's a life saver when you can play the game and not worry about bonds, just some input from a person who's just learning raids 3. :) hope this helped!
@charlesbrown4483
@charlesbrown4483 20 дней назад
@@nebulouscat2210 You can do it in 15m gear because you’re a 0.5% player. The vast majority of the player base has never even attempted a raid, even fewer have completed more than a handful of carried raids, and even fewer can consistently solo something like 300’s for example. Most players going into it will need some decent gear like bowfa/crystal, fang, bandos, etc otherwise they just don’t stand a chance. Assuming they’re not getting carried, in which case they’re not really learning the raid. As for paying for bonds, aside the fact that some people can’t afford it, personally I refuse to pay for it with real money because I’m American and there’s a predatory American tax on bonds. Our bonds cost more than other developed countries whose currency is worth more than ours and I don’t think that’s acceptable. So I’ll just pay for it in gold.

@@charlesbrown4483 Im sorry, but Im still in the learning stages of the raid, and doing it on entry mode. Im definately not 0.5% of players. However on entry mode, iv learned so much in just 3-4 kc of each of the bosses and only struggled on a handful of occasions with the help of guides, and information resources. With my lower tier gear, not only do I feel more confident about doing the raid, but even more so once I have the appropriate gear. And even beyond that I feel even more confident to implement what iv been learning here in various other content. If you watch any Toa guide they will state that minimum entry gear is in the 15-20ishm area, ahrims, blessed dhide, maaybe a karils top, obsidian armor, dragon crossbow, keris partizan, nezzy helm, accumulator, trident. Im not talking about high invocations, im saying that the amount of things needed for entry level and actually learning the mechanics and learning to do the raid is suprisingly low compared to what I thought it would be a few days ago, when I started trying the raid for the first time. Im definately not attacking your opinion, just one player sharing what iv learned with another about some things that I feel are kinda of a misconception to people who've never had the chance to try it, and become discouraged for aiming towards it because they lack the gp to do so, when in reality entry level requires very little gp but moreso time and grinding. Yes upgrades, and potentially a team are needed to do high level invos right, but at that point you have practice from doing entry level that will help you do it with lesser gear and even better when you finally do get better upgrades. Buy your bonds however you want, it was a suggestion as you sound far to stressed out about buying bonds lol.
@charlesbrown4483
@charlesbrown4483 20 дней назад
@@nebulouscat2210 Well no offense but if you’re doing entry mode then you just don’t know the raid yet. There’s a big difference between doing entry mode with 15m gear and doing, idk, anything over 150’s with 15m gear. And how easy or how difficult content creators say something is really isn’t a good metric to go off of. Most of them are content creators exactly because they’re some of the best players in the game. The people uploading videos of them soloing 500’s in welfare gear are nowhere near the average player lol.

@@charlesbrown4483 My point was always that it doesnt cost 200m in gear, 100m in supplies and 50m in death fees to get started in learning and doing the raid. I never said anything about high invos or doing things in groups, but you are certainly determined to be right in every way you possibly can so thats fine. it was a fantastic update, let people work for their drops it doesnt have to be insane drop chances, make methods that feel actually satisfying with real growth for the risk involved. when I realized that they are good profit, fun, risky, and actually genuinely rewarding, I was blown away that jagex finally gave us something like this. Not every good rewarding thing has to be a grueling miserable task. Fact is pirates are fun, rewarding, and easy. Rewarding for pker's and rewarding for the typical players also. Let things be fun, engaging, and rewarding. Literally nothing wrong with that. Ffs a grind should be satisfying at the end. Not feel like you are escaping from being kidnapped.
@jolgbentelem
@jolgbentelem 21 день назад
using the word risk in this context is just absurd. even with cannon you dont have to risk even 1/5th your potential hourly profit to achieve those rates. there is absolutely no 'risk' involved. even vorkath objectively has more tangible 'risk' with the cost of consumables and for ungael to cough up your gear if you die. this update, by any standard other than those who run bot farms, is horrific for the games economy and at best will make the experience of participating in that economy tangibly worse for everyone, especially the poors who see this as their chance to get rich or ironmen who are happy to be fed. what pker in their right mind, with an account in the 80-100 bracket where most of the bots are, would camp content where bots and players can depot so frequently?
@nebulouscat2210
@nebulouscat2210 21 день назад
I stand firm in my opinion, just because you or I don't risk, or risk intelligently there doesn't mean others do the same. I see people get pk'd there all the time and lose between 100k-1m in loot which yeah its loot but it also costs time. to get "Rich" at the zombies would be madness , Imagine grinding 1B+ at zombies. collectively yeah the bots will, but they always will. Ultimately its not the fault of the legitimate player that bots exist, and jagex knows that its up to them to mitigate the harm here. Plain and simple, content should not be made with bots in mind, it should be made with the legitimate playerbase in mind, mitigating the harm is up to jagex. There will always be bots, at every new activity, for the rest of eternity! Runescape is thriving right now, and fun content that makes the world feel more alive is more important than ever to keep the player count growing. I don't think theres anything wrong with "Poors" getting rich from doing something they want to, a few 100m only gets you so far. btw that's a horrible way to refer to people. I also dont think theres anything wrong if an iron chooses to get their dscim there or some drops, so? They can choose the traditional route if they want to. Leave the "poors" alone and do some content you enjoy!!!!

@@nebulouscat2210 nice feelgood reply but unfortunately youre stepping away from reality. you missed the point entirely. the people who assume they'll benefit from this are the ones who will be harmed the most by the economic impact. you were actually half right - no real player gets anywhere from this content. maybe few kids get a dopamine rush grinding out an item before realizing theyre still poor. the economy balances itself around a ridiculous gp printer with 0 reqs or risk. everyone is worse off, time is farther devalued particularly at the low-end. the game gets objectively worse. doesnt take a genius.

@@jolgbentelem It's literally about 4.6m per 1000 zombies. Doesnt seems like a rediculous gp printer to me. To make 25m there will take nearly 5000 kills. You can say bot bot bot economy this and that but even injecting 20b into the economy doesnt mean anything with players who horde, collect, and have banks worth over 80b on the regular. Idk if you think the economy isnt already breaking under the stress, but it has been for a long time. The reality is that the pirates are inconsequential. Shocking at face value, but the harm they could do is minimal compared to the hordes of bots on page 1 high scores bringing in 10s of Bs worth of unique into the game every hour. Inconsequential to the bots who kill chaos druids on every world and bring in millions and millions of herbs Into the game, inconsequential. Fact is it was would take an unreasonable amount of time to make real money there. It's a front end loaded method, its consistent, but after 5000-10000 kills the profit becomes far less than the same time spent doing something actually profitable.

@@nebulouscat2210 you seem to be intentionally ignoring the point, to the point that there's no way you're discussing this in good faith. uniques flooding the game aren't even a spec compared to the inflationary pressure of alchables flooding the game. comparing the two is at very best a disingenuous fallacy. individual bot farms are more than capable of having tangible, measurable impact on the game economy. we have countless specific examples of this both recent and historical. it is an objective fact. it seems more likely you're either trolling or directly involved in something than actually interested in talking about the issue with the way you're grasping at fallacy to justify this content.

@7:00 sorry to tell you but bots have been in runescape since late 2001. Cmon do you seriously think people actually certed and uncerted Certs? Fatigued staker required bots. Then obviously skill and resource bots. Since 2001. When you really stop to think about it runescape currency was sold and bought just like any other virtual money and the Developers knew this. It was their main goal.

They added the tele block and everything for bot farming. Specific for us players to farm the bots for their loot because bots most definitely will try to do it. Think this is our time to shine and remove some bots

if zombies wasnt in the wildy then it would be an issue. half of the osrs population are afraid of wildy and the other half that goes in are mostly bots and vennys. people rather pot non wildy for gp then wildy content
