The WGEA has been in existence for about 10 years. In all that time they have yet to conduct a survey of workers which may get to the bottom of this issue. But of course such a survey may lead to inconvenient truths which may then result in the end of the pay gap grift and the WGEA.

It’s not a pay gap it’s an earnings gap. Before the age of 26 women earn proportionally more than men due to access granted to higher paying roles and more opportunities, especially when the economy is strong (as per the Hot Waitress Index). Having worked in female-dominated industries most of my life, I can also confirm several instances of underpayment and direct wage-theft of employees by entitled female management who were also some of the loudest about the “pay gap”. Weirdly, even those impacted couldn’t seem to see (or wouldn’t admit) how this was actual corruption in action and measurably worse than falsely represented stats and figures.

So if a trans man is being payed less than a real man how does that get worked out?

It is the spending gap they should bemoan! Why do we go to work? To earn money or have money to spend? Few of us save our pay, we spend it - on essentials and non-essentials. So spending is the real aim of all this activity. So men earn more, but who spends more? Ask the store owners. Go to your local mall. More shops for women or men? More floor and shelf space for women or men? More spending by women or men? Women obviously! But, women earn less than men! So how is this economic miracle achieved? Earn less, spend more! Women are spending money earned by themselves and men. Who is more oppressed, the person spending money she did not have to earn or the person working so she can spend the money he earns?

Thank you for presenting this information - it is extremely tragic that data is mis-used and mis-represented by people with an agenda and it has nothing to do with meritocracy or the truth, only political nonsense - the system is extremely broken and it is this kind of logic and behaviour that is making it worse - as a taxpayer, I would expect efforts would be made to improve the broken system and not make it worse - now people can see why the system is broken int he first place. This type of crazy conduct occurs on both sides and it is about time both sides started lifting their game, hence why the system is so broken in the first place.
