Hey bro , after couple months do scratch marks show a lot since it’s black ? I wanted to get these but I’m scared because of brake pads making contact with rotor and it being scratched. Any advice or info would help thanks
I think it's more of fading than scratches but once i get the bike back from the shop i'll post a video and make sure i take a few to zoom in on the rotors so you can see. just make sure you get their Lyndall Z plus brake pads that are made for these rotors. Unfortunately that's the only thing their website says about maintaining the rotors.
@@WeRide2 any update on the black finish fading & braking performance using the Z plus pads ? I have these rotors on my road glide st using the gold plus and the finish came off real quick but I was aware of it. I’m about to install a set of all black rotors on my fxlrs and curious how the pads you installed worked out for ya.
Hey WR2, nice brakes I have the Lyndall Gold check out my install video. Looking forward to more videos from you. New SUBSCRIBER. Beware I did everything Lyndall told me and the rotor still rubbed off the gold and Lyndall customer service is the worst it took months for them to respond and help me. Won’t be buying again from them!
I'll def check it out. Thanks for the kind words, look forward to your videos as well.. Yea I wasnt sure how high to keep my hopes up that the rotors would stay that color. Did they come up with a solution for you?
Hi @@WeRide2, So the black color of the rotors does not last long? but looking at the functionality side, would you recommend them? how is the braking? What model did you put on the rear wheel? regards.
@@chicanoland7627 Let's give it some time to see how quickly they fade, so far so good and that's with 2 road trips (daytona, tampa).. bike is braking good, but i think it may be just the fact that i have new pads and rotors. I can't say if it's braking any better than stock but perhaps after a long day of stop and go they'll out perform stock. Only did the rotors in the front but i have the matching brake pads in the rear, the rear rotor will be swapped out next. I think if you're looking for max brake performance you need to start with upgrading the master cylinder.. thanks for stopping by!
Did u use the correct pads? The gold rotors require the Z-plus pads…not the gold-plus pads. Z-pads have a softer compound which won’t remove the finish.
