Great video during the winter months i prospect LSD may I move to the mayer. Walker last summer try to get to my favorite spot on Lynx Creek but all trails closed or block with downed trees. I Will be looking this summer for a new spot to get out of the summer heat I'll hit the like button and subscribe on my way out have a happy Easter
I live in this area and hike my dogs often, possibly where you were standing. I've been prospecting for many years. Metal detecting, bottle collecting, native pottery shards and of course...... ROCKS! It's to bad they closed off the west end of the creek just past the Stoneridge Bridge. Ten years ago, not even the Cops seemed to know what the laws were in this area for Prospecting. And some of the Cops Prospected. If anyone looks at a map of the mines of Arizona from the 1800's till now. The South is dotted heavily, but spaced far apart. The North has one dot all the way up. But this area, the dots are practically over lapping and there's a ton of mines here that produced good ore. Liked and Subbed...... Look forward to another of your videos soon.
How's it going, yah I agree with everything you said, sounds like Fain park lol. But this video was shot up Lynx way up, access is from Walker on a buddy's claim. One a the few claims on Lynx. And we got some really good spots with loads of good ore. Last week went up Senator and located great ore veins I'll post in the future. Great having you on the channel hope you enjoy, And if you have any suggestions or something to see I'll do my best to get some videos for everyone relevant to you taste and style! Thanks again great having you!
I ranched near that area 40 years ago. I became friends with a pair of old miners that were a legend in the area, I was told they bought a brand new Cadillac with gold nuggets. They were both in their 70s and pretty much alcoholics but they had enough gold to live on and keep them comfortable for the rest of their days. They owned many claims that they could’ve sold at any time and retired on just one of them . They had a huge stash of gold, but they lived As they always had, just mining. Their names were Woody, and Gail. One of their last names was Grantham. If anyone has information I would sure love to pay their graveside a visit.
Hey it's great having you on the channel! There's many old timers around and I'm good friends with, I'll be chatting with them soon and will definitely see what I can do to locate them, find a number or at least get some info for you and would love to go pay some respects also. I will stay in touch with you and let's see where we get with this.. Are you still ranching?
Thank you much for your research. May you find gold in those hills! I am 65 years old now, I was in my 20s when I knew Woody and Gail. They were both old men then. I’m not sure we are talking about the same Woody.
Good work gentlemen!🌟 Caliche development can incorporate gold, gemstones, and other valuable minerals. Caliche is a hardened deposit of calcium carbonate. This calcium carbonate cements together other materials, including gravel, sand, clay, and silt. Caliche porosity can serve as the deposition site of valuable secondary minerals, including ores of uranium and vanadium, and gem materials such as turquoise and malachite.
Thank you, yah we figured Caliche and we've hit the Caliche deposit running on top of bedrock. Just sometimes there's this white grease deposits in Lynx that we're pretty sure was from the old timers mining but that grease stays soft. Yes definitely Caliche. 👍
Thank you so much Eric yeah this is just a blast man, can't wait to get some more hours in the truck with you brotha, and can't wait to get you up to the mine with us. Got to see the gravel pit operation where there running the gold and processing it dude was out today running a high banker he works for gravel pit, he was running all of it right there where we practice the backing. Just insane the amount of gold that I got to see today that they pull he even showed me pictures of they're 60 and 40 oz gold bars so insane. So it goes the show there's dun gold in these hills! LOL
Great to have you to the channel!! And no worries definitely got some more great videos coming up, getting some scouting done for new spots probably towards the desert and getting some good gold out there also. It's great to hear feedback that people want to see some more videos, and again great to have you the channel. Good luck on your endeavors finding that color!
Hopefully you get enough subscribers young man to improve your camera because your video is excellent. You have a natural knack for simple explanation and a well monitored speaking voice. Well done Dittos from this old 65 year old old man that wishes he was there I'm in South Texas unfortunately no gold here they won't let us metal detect the beaches
Thank you so much! I try to keep it simple, I understand that the people who are more advanced already understand and should know this and hopefully they would learn something new. But I want to cater to the newer audience and prospector's. Keep it simple but don't mislead. Appreciate the compliments, good to know I'm doing fine. And if you ever plan a trip out here let me know and I'd love to show you around and get you some gold. We'll stay safe and enjoy ever day to the fullest! It's great having you with the channel!
Greaat history of Lynx Creek brother. Very nice looking material in that prospect hole. Great color in the indicator mat Ryan. Didn't think it was legal to use a sluice on Lynx, has something changed? I did sub to you brother.😎😎⛏⛏🔥🔥
Hey Chuck great to have you with the channel! And yes it's still not allowed as far as I know but you always hear different things such as, as long as it doesn't have a pump within a certain size and so on... But we stay within the rules anyways and keep to them, less headache that way. This was on Lynx Creek, but was on a buddy's claim he's one of the couple that has a claim on Lynx with the small gaps of BLM on Lynx
Appreciate the sub and great to have you with the channel. Yah that's a really good spot, but there's plenty more to be found! Good luck on your prospecting adventures!
Gave you a sub brotha, just went to lynx creek for my first time and loved it there’s so much gold there, unfortunately didn’t get to dig to much but I will be back for sure! maybe we could do a collab?
And thank you appreciate it on the sub. Yah hit me up when you get back this way, if you get out and really dig out at Lynx and you will find gold just gotta dig. Stay safe and let me know when you come out.
Hey Dan apologize haven't checked the page in a few days, yes there's plenty of great places to camp I would recommend, Bannie Mine Rd. it's mile marker #5 up Walker Rd and there's free camping spots pretty much at the start of Bannie all the way down to Lynx creek. Really good area to camp and it's up in the timber-forest at a beautiful location. And if you're coming up for the weekend try to get up there as soon as you can Summers here and sometimes that area can get packed and all the campsites get taken.
And also up Senator Rd when the pavement turns to dirt, there's a road "East wolf creek Rd" is another area with free camping all over the place and a nice forest service paid campground also. Hopefully this all helps you out. And if you have any other questions don't hesitate and have a great safe trip..
Yes it is, pretty much no powered equipment unless the rules have changed. Unless you have a claim or know someone who has claims on Lynx and have their permission. Then yah I'd say stick to the pans. Good luck out there!
And if you sit in certain parking lots that are at Lynx you see about 20 sluices a weekend out there when the waters running, I don't know. You can pan in the rules but there's a pan called a super sluice so where does it all qualify. Your not using an actual machine when dropping in a sluice but yet is uses hydrology mechanics to operate. Basically I think their just trying to prevent toxic chemicals such as fuel spills from pumps, erosion, and not allowing any excellerated methods of recovering placer gold than a pan. But I'd call and get any clarification before I ventured out there then, from the forest service if you're on Forest lands. Hope that was helpful
@@ryano6422 yes it does. I’ve been to lynx lake not sure where lynx creek is at, I’m assuming ya go past the lake. I’m very new to the hobby. Sorry about all the questions
@@HoofPrintsDRLynx Creek is down Bannie Mine Road, and past the first bridge that's concrete all the way at the bottom of a rough dirt road that's somewhat steep. A lifted 4x4 is highly recommended!
Do they allow us to use sluices in the creek now? Just got one today for my birthday. Last I heard they are prohibited because of unfair advantage, with big fines and even jail time.
It depends on where you are located. Yes there are spots where the use of any mechanized equipment is illegal, only strictly shovel and pan allowed, any other equipment that is used to excel the recover of gold in some areas is illegal. But... There's some BLM on Lynx Creek, and legitimate claims, which a good friend and Prospecting buddy owns claims on Lynx so we can go enjoy ourselves there. Just be familiar with where you are at and the rules.
Also if I got a new sluice and wanted to go play with it I would head to the Hassayampa River up Senator Hwy to Wolf Creek Rd. There's a campground (paid) which is closed for winter but you can park around there and a short walk to the River which is flowing really good right now, find plenty of Gold in that area just make sure you're not on any claims I have multiple down river from there and tons of gold continue to yearly run on the claims. Hope that helps you out. Enjoy that Sluice and go get that gold!
@@ryano6422 I appreciate your advice, thank you! Still very new to it all, learning as much as I can from all the experienced prospectors. Only recently have I started finding very very small flour gold, but even that gets me excited. It may or may not come as a surprise but most are not eager to share any advice.
No worries, and yes most experienced prospectors don't give to much advice or info usually, it does seem like this is all a big secret. That's ok, but gaining all the experience I have come to aquire, I've learned there's gold everywhere it's just about understanding the area and what's happened in the past and still happening and most of this is common sense just learning to read if everyone in the world has beat up the spot you're looking at or not.
For starters one thing that changed and brought me to a new level of prospecting is your view. Try this.... Instead of trying to look for the best spot to dig (which sometimes the best spots you can't tell it's the best until you get in there and start moving some dirt and that may take many feet of material to be removed) try this... Go to a spot you want to explore and start identifying all the areas you know not to dig and thru that process of elimination the left over areas should show you spots to work. And getting out of the creek and river is sometimes really good. Remember a long time ago these creeks and rivers used to be alothigher and the creek-river bottoms were higher, so the banks could be the old creek-river beds.
Yah apologize Rob just don't need the whole world running to a favorite spot of mine. We all know what would happen next. Instead I want to show everyone that there's still plenty of Gold left and show everyone how to locate and get plenty of Gold. Feel free let me know if you have any questions.
Well feel free to ask any questions that you might have or come up. I'm all about helping and seeing folks have a blast finding gold. I've came on about a centuries worth of experience from everyone I mine with, learned from and have talked to. Prospecting is a good tradition to pass on.
@@robertlewis5611 There are many TYPES of Prospecting. Your in an area I would love to go Prospecting, for Civil War Memorabilia! Old Bullets, Buttons, Coins, weapons or parts of Civil War weapons. Old glass bottles, and the list goes on. There are also about a dozen tales of lost treasures in Missouri.
