this kata is called "bassai dai" and it means "attack on a tower" and its my favourite kata

I think the techniques aren't that good. His legs aren't stable, except for Kiba dachi and in my opinion, he should finish all the techniques, especially when you are doing a kata in this speed.

Fortunately much Better in Kumite and sparring then Kata. Appreciate devotion to tradition but execution Is far from champion level: look at his feet and overall posture, small hypes rotation and not impressive kime' but he eventually train most of his Life for something different no question...

Besides tradition, what is the purpose of these poses and movements? Clearly these are not usable fight techniques being practiced so I dont see any benefit in them.

introduction to body mechanics and kinesics ; then the more you do it it helps develop. Also just like any "movement" training. It helps. Same reason fighters say training in a gi slows BJJ down for them and they get back to feeling each movement, mcgregor does his touch butt and flow training, gsp and his kyukushin and gymnastics

most people who practice kata dont understand the movements so no they cant be used in a fight. imagine those moves being used to throw, lock, dodge, takedown-defense, clinch and everything else that is used in a close-quarters fight and you can see the usefulness. however, the only way kata will be useful is if you practice on a person to the point that you can use it on a resisting partner that is fighting back.

Jakob Ruffinen before writing this you should watch his fights when he was in his prime and that steroid accusation is way too old now lol it's been 1 year or more now that everyone knows he didn't take peds but 7 keto you can buy it at Wallmart and it will only make you lose water without hard weight cutting.
