He's not really.. they write together. He writes the lyrics but the others write the music to his lyrics or he writes the lyrics to a guitar riff or a baseline or a drum pattern. They all write together. Watch the documentaries.. it's quite unique they actually fill in the pieces to each song together so there is no real main songwriter and no main decision maker on how each song develops. Which is why all songs are registered as written by Maneskin.
As an italian I'm SOSOSOSOSO proud of them. They really have the purest souls and their talent is out of this world. These angels deserve all the success they're getting. The reaction was awesome thank you sm!!
from other comment: For the ones who's struggling with the meaning of the song: "Marlena torna a casa" (Marlena come back home), Marlena it is a feminine name but is not referred to a woman, is "the inspiration", "the inner strenght". He's begging for it to turn back and lift him up from misery. It's an anthem for the ones who passed through rough shit moments, sports, art, acadameic things, whatever... true poem, great song. Marlena is like a muse. Måneskin said: "Marlena is our message of freedom, of life. She is the Venus of the group, the personification of our freedom, creativity, life". In short, Marlena is only apparently a woman and, as happens in the best poetic lyrics, the girl in question is (only) a personification and not the woman to whom Damiano dedicated the song. She represents beauty, freedom of choice, attitude, style.
Marlena is that "state of grace" that allows every kind of Artist to give to human mankind the present of Art. Love your reaction Cadz: it's an honor to be appreciated from a lad who has a Giant as Shakespeare as teacher of poetry.
Interesting stuff about Marlena often mentioned in their songs: Torna a casa, Moriro da Re, Le parole lontane is that she's not a real person, more like an idea of freedom, creativity, being yourself no matter what etc.
Totally agree you don't have to understand Italian to enjoy Måneskin but to fully appreciate all facets of their genius you should read the lyrics too.
Music is the universal language.I am a kind of music fan,who listens to different songs in different languages even if i did not understand a single word from the lyrics lol 😄 im always after the melody, rhythmn and how the artist execute it.
@@laraking804 The danger is that the lyrics are lost or lose their depth when writing in English, I would agree stick to Italian and we figure it out with lyrics videos :-)
so many italian artist know how to use the words and are excellents i think is part of italian ADN for example there's an italian rapper who wrotes this line "at home I have a pillow with a view of your eyes" is so sweet coming from a rapper :))
Ahaha i Guess some women from other countries thinks that we are all romantic like a Lucio Battisti song xD and i don't have a problem with that, is one of the good stereotypes of beign italian i Guess. Ciao bella ;)
@@bepinkfloyd814 i'm italian resident but born in Venezuela and i can tell you most of italian men are sweet and so romantic compared with Latinoamercan men, you didn't notice at all because is your normal way to live but yes i can confirm italian men are different in a positive way :)
My interpretation: Damiamo is asking his inspiration, his creativity, his boldness to come back home. In the moments he's sitting down with a cig and a piece of paper he tells himself to stay a little longer and write those words that have been going through his mind. Ignore the critiques and discrimination from mean people (Italy is a country full of bigot people who criticized Måneskin for their style and for sort of breaking gender norms, I think this is something all LGBTQ+ people in Italy can relate to that). He felt like disappearing when he was paying attention to all that negativity, so he's praying his muse (Marlena) to come back and inspire him. All the individuals in this band participate in the songwriting and are very sensitive and passionate souls.
Marlena is Not a person. Marlena is The Muse inspiring the artist stock in The creative process after She saved his Life appearing with Her Grace.. watching his face lost in Life. He was 19 when he wrote this lyric.
Quando si ascoltano canzoni come questa, con l'espressività che contraddistingue la lingua italiana, si inizia a gesticolare come facciamo noi italiani. Viene automatico! 😅
I must say, your one of my favourite reaction channel, because you REALLY focus on the lyrics. It's refreshing! And you humming along was the cutest thing ever 😭
I really appreciate you always look at the lyrics, very clever, not everybody is doing that, and with them it's worthing. Also, now you should re-listen to it but watching their video ❤️ and also considering who really is Marlena... Their muse, their inspiration, they're afraid of losing her, you'll appreciate the song even more.
Great reaction to a beautiful song! Bravissimo! Your energy is so positive and I really appreciate the fact that you read the words and interpret them so amazingly! Maneskin reaction video next- Can you please do the Le Parole Lontane next?
First you hear their song.. Wow! Then you see the performance.. OMG! Then you hear the other songs in their repertoire.. Then you read the lyrics.. Then you see their live shows.. Then you see their style and looks.. Then their fun personalities and interaction in documentaries.. Then you discover their backstories playing at school and the streets a few short years ago... Then you discover they are good kids still doing chemistry and history exams between live performance and recording.. And they record their songs together Live!!?? And they're still in their late teens and very early twenties?? They are going to be one of the largest bands ever.. they have another 7 years to reach their peak.. so surface has only been scratched so far..
I’m 39 and I think this kind of lyrics are very good and poetic too… I appreciate the choice of the words and of course the mix with the music and voice… I’m very happy this band can be listen from outside of Italy… thanks for that reaction 🦾
Finally someone clever enough to interpret the lyrics of the song so widely and deeply, thank you from italy for this pretty good and spontaneous reaction!
In the video you are amazed at how good Damiano is at exploiting rhetorical figures to express complex concepts, but while English is an extremely logical, concise language, essentially characterized by short and streamlined sentences, Italian often seeks a style a little bombastic, rich in vocabulary and emphatic. Consequently, in Italian, especially written, it is not unusual to find long and complex sentences. It is one of the riches of our language. 🇮🇹😁
They write together and I suggest you to pay more attention to the base because it’s something very rare, everyone in this band is pure talent and so important but not so many band gives so much importance at the base whereas in Måneskin it’s huuuuge! And Thomas is the youngest and he’s so freaking good!
You should react to their AMANDOTI cover live also there’s still “le parole lontane”, “l’altra dimensione” that you need to check out (songs about Marlena)
I was waiting for another Maneskin video of yours..glad you did this! Please do a live performance of "La paura del buio". There's one with english subtitles! All in one for us 😋
@@claudiapezone4742 no, it is not. The Standard British English, also called the Queen's English, is very easy to understand. English spoken with regional accents is difficult to understand. And I don't think you would be able to understand the American spoken in the US southern states!
Since this song came out I really hoped for them to come back strong because they where the only Italian artist that I really enjoyed listening to (I'm italian) and now that they won eurovision I'm really glad that they are climbing the charts and go international.. I'm proud😍

I Loved your reaction ❤ Maneskin Dajeeeeeeee❤❤❤ Now I wait for your reaction to "AMANDOTI" cover by CCCP Maneskin featuring Manuel Agnelli in Sanremo Love form Italy ❤❤❤
Ciao, I'm Italian, I'm watching dozens of reactions. Yours are the ones I like the most. Your reactions are true and sincere, I can perceive that they hit you in the feelings. I signed up immediately after seeing your first reaction, and I don't regret it, you have music in your blood. Marlena is an important reference for the Maneskins, she is not a person, I don't want to spoil you anything. Do your research and when you find out you will understand even better. Grazie
You Need to remember marlena Is not a real persone Is their muse , in fact in other songs like "morirò da re" they call her again when Say "Marlena vinci la sera " another Song i suggest you to react plus video as sell as Is MAD ✨ please react to the video as now you know the meaning you Will understand profoundly their art of work Baci dall'Italia grazie per i tuoi video (thanks for your video 💜) By the way am i the only One Who Feels like they jumped out from Nana the japanese manga ?
He is asking Marlena to come to him back home. Marlena is his muse = imagination, creativity, art, life... Without her he is left only with coldness, an empty white page in his hand, and even Angels fear lack of creativity...
i like the way you react. it's not like the usual reaction videds. you take your time and really react and engage to the songs you're listening. good work mate
Thank you for your reaction, it seems you're really open to appreciating all the passion the band put in their music. Although I personally think that some of the tropes in Damiano's lyrics (mostly in Il Ballo della Vita) are a bit juvenile, I actually think I appreciate that more now, that I'm older, than I would have at his age. For one thing, he wrote these when he was just 19; also, it makes more sense to listen to them in Italian, because they rhyme, and that's another reason why I respect your reaction. Not everybody is going through the effort of trying to follow the lyrics, you know. I think that's a pity, because all songs are, after all, poems, and even if they're not in your language, they all require a bit of research. And once you get used to it... you've stepped into a larger world. But I hope you also have a look at the music video of this song, because it's quite artistic. Just for your enjoyment, maybe. It makes more sense when you have checked out the lyrics.
the simple way to listen to this song is to understand that he has been saved by the music, and he need his muse (Marlena) to survire, not disappear. The bad that becomes good throught art. This is actually how inspiration works.
@@cadzcrew You're doing amazinggg. Last time I checked in, you're at 81k. I congratulate you every month I think. 😂 Good job, hotshot! Keep it wild. ❤️

Marilena rappresenta non una donna ma la voglia di arrivare ad avere il successo, per questo dice torna a casa.Questa bellissima canzone composta da Damiano lo dice.Non si può cantare in un altra lingua, solo in italiano si esprime la sua forza.
