Reger has a breadth of creativity that stretches the organ… vocal and all genre to the limits. Greatly underappreciated today… but the more he is showcased… the more he is admired.
I thank RU-vid for giving me such a wonderful opportunity for a long and deep journey with most of the work of this great artist. Regrettably, I did not find him, even among "the Composer of the Week" in the BBC.
The more I listen to this composer the deeper my appreciation goes...as it's already pretty deep...and to think how he of all such great composers...could be so "forgotten" since I suspect that he wasn't really forgotten...rather that some of his more illustrious colleagues were afraid of some sort of competition...after all...their work was to important...so that they had to see him as a so-called threat...such incredible nonsense...the music of Max Reger equals that of Tchaikovsky, Richard Strauss [most certainly] Mahler, Debussy...It's too bad that his life was cut short...but we can and should be most thankful for such a magnificent output....Thank You!!....
+james alden I would say that Reger was definitely superior to Tchaikovsky, who is not a great favorite of mine. It is interesting that Reger's work was very much admired by my favorite composer Arnold Schoenberg, who arranged Reger's Eine Romantische Suite.
I completely agree! Reger can imho be listed among the greatest composers of his time and for sure as the most gifted master of the fugue/counterpoint after JSB. His variations for piano or orchestra have no parallel in his days.
Max Reger’s compositions: you have got to dig deep down in there, but, if you’re a good listener, that is, it’s well worth your effort. Variations + Fugues (Hiller, Mozart, etc.), Violin Concerto - much to discover and enjoy, all you Tchaikovsky fans!
Ayer se metio una rafaga de un rayo a mi casa , al instante que me movi del lugar donde paso a 10 centimetros de mi cara , ni tiempo tuve de asustarme , solo le di gracias a Dios .Me necesita mas tiempo AQUI
