NO. Maestro IR NEVER said that MSV was his "only" vazhikaatti. He has ALWAYS mentioned about his other inspirations like C.R. Subburaman, SDB, Madan Mohan, S-J, Naushad etc. and also Western composers like Bach etc.

@@subramaniampanchanathan6384 You may gain your satisfaction by that. But, according to several of his interviews (online and on print), he REVERES MSV (no doubt about that!) as much as he does others like CRV, SVV, GR, Madan Mohan, SDB, Naushad etc.

He LOVES MSV. IR approached MSV during his bad phase in the late 80' s and gave him work. Then, he told MSV that he wanted to orchestrate his tunes. So, they worked together for 5 films! MSV sir also did NOT mind working for Ilayaraja because he loved him VERY much! Ilayaraja has ALSO CO-composed with the great Dakshinamurthy Swami. IR composed for FREE or Lesser compensation for MANY directors & producers. ASK THEM about IR's magnanimity. IR DONATED 20% of his copyrights of his 5000 songs to the Cine Musicians Union. DO YOU KNOW any other music director who did that? Don't blabber nonsense for spewing your unnecessary hatred towards him.

In 2013, he was the ONLY composer to organize an entire concert in memory of MSV "Ennulil MSV". What do you know about IR?

MSV worked with Ilayaraja not for Ilayaraja. I have huge respect for Ilayaraja and he has given beautiful orchestration for MSV's tune in this and other films in which they have worked together.

BC99 No, I'm not MSV's son. I understand what you are saying. AVM Sarannan Sir once shared about this. Before Mella Thiranthathu Kadhavu, there was this Kannada Film (Or Telugu, I can't recall which movie?) for which Raaja sir composed music. Raaja sir was busy at that time doing more than 50 films in a year. That movie director urged Raaja sir for RR but he was so busy at that so he couldn't find time to do it. Later that movie director approached MSV with whom he has collaborated earlier to do RR alone. MSV was reluctant at first but later he agreed to do it. Some magazines wrote that MSV started working under Ilayaraja. That bothered many MSV fans and even Ilayaraja himself. AVM came up with this idea to make a film for MSV. That's how Mella Thiranthathu Kadhavu happened. Ilayaraja never employed MSV. I'm not arrogant or egoistic to accept a fact. I'm simply saying what you are saying is not entirely true. There was news circulating at that time but that was just a pathetic writing by some idiotic journalist. R. Sundarajan told Ilayaraja wanted no one to interfere in composing because he wanted to get music from MSV as he love. This was his long time dream. This was his own words. It was agreed that all songs shall be composed by MSV and Orchestration plus RR shall be done by Raaja. Then how two songs are composed by Raaja? Those songs were not composed for this film. Raaja composed this for some other movie but it was not used. Raaja played it to MSV he gladly agreed to use it in this movie. I know you are a big devotee of Ilayaraja. I have high respect for Raaja sir and for you too. Raaja has done so many which no other Indian composers have even tried. I love Raaja. I'm a big fan of Ilayaraja sir. And I am a devotee of MSV. MSV never claimed other's work as his. "Mayakum maalai" song was composed by KVM mama but it was released under the name of Vis-Ram in Gulebagavali. MSV is the one who openly said that was not his composition. I've never disrespected Raaja in any of my comments. I love his compositions. He is indeed a proud of India. MSV is underrated and not properly recognized for his work. I never compare MSV with Raaja. There are two different composers. We are not comparing Thyagaraja with Bach, are we? That'd be unfair. This is too. I enjoy both and I feel blessed that we got such a great composers. I'm sorry if I said anything offensive to you. Thank you.
