👋 In this video, we're diving into the latest gear announcements from OM System, exploring their new releases and upgrades. Before we begin, a quick heads-up - while I haven't had hands-on experience with these products, I've gathered insights from videos and articles to share my thoughts.
We kick things off with the M.Zuiko 9-18mm F4-5.6 MKII lens, a promising upgrade from its predecessor. I've used the older version, and this refresh seems like a smart move for both OM System and Micro 4/3 enthusiasts.
Moving on, OM System introduces the OM-1 Mark II, a follow-up to the OM-1 launched two years ago. Having used the original OM-1, I share my experiences and thoughts on this latest iteration.
A noteworthy mention is the rebranding under the name OM System, possibly due to rights expiration for the Olympus brand. Alongside the rebranding, OM System brings new features and enhancements, including an increased buffer size and a game-changing built-in gradual ND filter. Perfectly tailored to its audience, this feature allows on-the-go adjustments, adding a touch of genius.
While applauding these improvements, I express a personal wish for enhanced video features. Given the evolving camera market, a focus on video capabilities could broaden OM System's audience. I share my own shift from OM-1 to Fujifilm, influenced by video features, and express hope for future developments in this area.

The other 1,200 mm lens is a prime that cost as much as a car. The new OM telephoto lens is cheap and faster and aperture compared to that

I enjoyed your video. I like your positive view. I have pre-ordered the new OM-1 MkII. I will most likely trade in my OM-1 to help pay for it. I do think OMDS should have a camera between the OM-5 at $1,100 and the OM-1 MKII at $2,400. Maybe a camera with a BSI sensor with a few more MP and with the newest TruPic processor with all the improved AF and Subject AI features. With a non-stacked BSI sensor it might not be as quick but it will most likley be good enough for a travel landscape camera. Maybe even make it a weather-sealed rangefinder body with a dual hinged rear screen.

Between the two. Can you made some other good points there too about the sensor. Have you had a chance to watch my video call the big gun give away? If you haven't you probably should. I can't believe people are complaining about the price of this lens. There is literally nothing like it for the micro 4/3 mount.

I know, it's literally mind boggling to me. To think that in reality, you now can buy a brand new camera and Lense and get 2400mm of well over 6+stops of hand held stabilization all for well under $7k is just jaw dropping to me.
