Look boy, never ever wait till it’s too late... I’m 16, my dad has a stable job, even if he loses it, he will probably do something else to make money. My dad is successful because of that. But I don’t agree with him. He’s always like “study so you can have a good future”. Well, most millionaires and billionaires haven’t even finished their study. So will I. Because planning beforehand is always better and more rewarding than waiting till it’s too late.

The Red Pill Of Finance I have a question about m1 finance robo advisor. Do you have to pay a lot in taxes since they constantly buy and sell stocks according to what’s under or over weight? I know every time you rebalance they have to sell but what about just buying stocks and not touching it after that. I want to focus on long team growth but I don’t want to pay short term capital gain tax.

what if one stock skyrockets in price and completely messes up your percentages, would m1 sell off some of that stock to make your percentages comes back to what you orginally set as your allocation percentages?

So since the market is constantly changing, wouldn’t your portfolio constantly drift as well..so I would constantly keep putting money into it so it doesn’t get out of whack?? I don’t like the idea of having to add $$ every time it’s drifting or can you elaborate on that? Or is it because it’s fractured shares that you want to keep adding $$. Is this more for a long term small investing ? It looks like what Home Depot would do with my $$ that I had in my 401k You should make a video showing 4 shares you buy and after 1 week later you sell it and explain the profit or loss

So one thing I keep seeing on all these beginner m1 videos is everyone just takes a random % and says I want x% to go into this stock and y% to go into that stock. Is that what everyone does or is there a way to figure out the efficient % to assign to each stock in my pie?

What type of account is this? individual(taxable) or Roth IRA? reason is I was wondering what the tax events are like for rebalancing pie. I am hearing each time a change is made to pie its considered a taxable event in a individual non IRA type account.

Is there a way to transfer the money I have from one brokerage account straight to another without tranfering to the bank than back to M1? I have 2 different portfolios (2 brokerage account) in the same M1 accounts. When I go into TRANSFERS it just give me the option to send to bank and not to another brokerage account. Thank you!

I has question So you make this pie-portfolio of your chosen stocks with the amount of money in your account at that time. It gets dispersed depending on what percent those stocks hold in pie (right?). But if you add more money to the account at a later time, it too automatically is invested throughout those stocks at this later time. So my question: isn’t this a bad thing if you have a bunch of stocks that are at, for example, highs and the money you just added is invested into those stocks at that high price? Or am I missing something? Question simplified: if money you add into the account is invested into all those stocks, all at that time at once, why would you ever add external cash if it’s automatically going to purchase stocks that could be at all time highs? Follow up question: when you sell a stock, does it automatically reinvest that cash into all your stocks (increasing the amount and pie-percentage owned of those stocks) or do you now have liquid cash sitting in your account?

You can just change your percentage allocations in favor of stocks that are currently at their low before you add any additional funds.

So I wanted to create my own custom pie. Say I would do a pie with Tesla, Microsoft and Apple and call it "My Stock Picks" After I select all 3 companies, then i click "Add to Portfolio" then what? M1 is basically like our retirement horizons 457 but we have more control in choosing stocks and we get to invest on the expensive stocks...i think this is better than robinhoon when youre a long term investor...

Thank you Ryan, I do have a few questions. What happens if you decide to add another company to your custom pie down the line? does that mean they would sell shares of other companies to make room for it, therefore we have to pay a tax on capital gains? Also, when you do decide to cash out of some of them or say you think one company is not going in the direction you want, do you simply put the allocation to 0% or is there an option to sell it and have a cash balance? How does the micro-deposit work when im connecting my bank account through a routing #? Are these amounts withdrawn from M1 finance, deposited to me temporarily, then once I verify the amounts in my bank account, deposited back into their account? Let’s say I want to invest enough money to buy ONE or another complete share in a stock, theoretically, can I set ALL other stocks to 0% before I add money to M1 Finance and THEN set my percentages back to my normal percentages for broad investing AFTER I invested enough to buy one complete share for a company or regardless of what I put in, before or after, it divides my investment regardless?

Hi Ryan.... I joined M1 a couple of days ago with your link. I have a question...why can't I find the actual ETF price at my Portfolio or My Holdings. I created a 4 slice pie with VUG, VGT, VYM, and VDC...and I never see the actual price any of them are trading at. I do see Value and Gain on my Portfolio page...and Shares, Avg. price, Cost basis, Value, and Unrealized Gains on my Holdings page....But NO Last Price of the ETF ? Thanks ! LIKED/SUBSCRIBED
