Quick description on “zeroing” front sight. My camera is old, I dont have a production crew or editing skills. If tou need more info post in comments andI will do my best.

I found them poking around the internet. M1 Garand Targeting and Accuracy test target.

If you cant find them , see if you can get the target number off the video. Seems harder to find now. I gave it a quick look and could not find the source where I got them.?

For what I understood is that the windache knob is for the wind , not so much to straighten your sights , the front sights can be adjusted easily, in mine for example I had to move it to the right very little that you can’t tell that it is to the right , I prefer to have the rear sights at cero But that’s me , I heard to that to calibrate your sights you have to go 100 yards When you shoot 25 yards don’t matter how much you move your sights really That’s what I have see on the rifle , and everyone is different at shooting . Positions , trigger pull , vision , ammo etc I like your video anyways I learn some things too . I suggest try it on 100 yards , mine toke 8 clicks some take 10 clicks etc

Right its all preference,. You can get a “rough” zero or no wind Zero at 25 yards , fine tune it at 100 if you like. Then its a matter of conditions at that point. Theres a reason JCG designed so much windage in that rear sight. I need to adjust windage for off hand stage of as issued match. I just cant hold the rifle solid and steady with out a natural cant so a add a few minutes of windage for the off hand portion of the match

Great info. I'm planning on getting a CMP select grade M1. I've heard that the M1 is very accurate if properly fitted to stock and everything is mechanically sound. That's why I want the select grade. Do you compete? Thanks for sharing

I shoot in cmp games and NRA service rifle. . Accuracy can be had with the M1. Anything under 3 moa is very good. A really nice barrel , well fitting parts and a nice trigger and capable ammo should get under 2 moa ish. Just remember the 10 ring is 3moa in cmp games. You get into really expensive barrels , glass bedding and something like beger bullets you can get to 1 moa

@@brianlee6849 Just a note. CMP games or As Issued M1 matches has requirements of what you can and can not do to your rifle. They have other categories for heavily modified M1. Its Unlimited glass. Just know what game you playing in so you dont gat DQ”d

@@Mac-mu9cs Yes I plan to get a special grade and just have fun with it as is. not really thinking I will get heavily into the competition more just for fun. Probably get into loading to save money and have fun and be able to load hunting bullets. I will probably try to work up a hunting load in the 165 grain partition at about the same 2,700 ft per second as the creedmoor ammo. Thanks

@@brianlee6849 Nice, do find local cmp or NRA matches. They are fun and you can really get that rifle dialed in.
