M1 iMac 24" (2021) - One Month Later Review! 

Silver looks classic, I thought of buying a blue, but now I'm going for the silver.

Excellent detailed review Justin, beautifully shot and edited. I am waiting eagerly for mine, it will be my new video editing iMac and now I am really looking forward to it!

I agree about the disappointment of ports, 4 does not seem like enough when HDMI is involved, printer, remote hard drive option, transferring photos from mini iPad to iPhoto in iMac desktop.....thank you for enough detail. 👍💯

I almost look at this machine as a big notebook instead of a small desktop. I look forward to seeing case options for it. This is the nicest and most polished computer I have ever used. I can't wait to see the what they do with the larger model.

Frankly I’ve not had any “thing” with the bezel or the chin! I’m glad it doesn’t have a logo on the front! I’ve the silver and the black line that sets the bezel off I’ve found that the beautiful screen is astounding.

good review/video. but I think most people will like to see the performance of all these products at their base level or 1 step up. 99% don't buy the maxed-out version.

I love the look of the iMac and all of its design aspects. I like the chin to use for post it notes.

Everyone who says that the chin in front is ugly doesn't understand the marketing behind it. Apple has always made it a priority to stand out alongside their competitors. The iPhone 'notch', the 'click wheel', and the Apple logo on the back of their MacBooks, just to name a few. The chin, whilst being a storage compartment for multiple hardware pieces is also used to *distinguish* iMac's from other monitors.

I learnt early on in illustration and design that black frames overwhelm the picture. White frames enhance it. I love love love the chin and the white bezels. The complimenting darker color at the backs. I love it. Bravo Apple

Just a questions, I have the iMac 24” and I currently have the default Monterey wallpaper as my background, and it shows on the Lock Screen however, if I restart or shutdown my Mac and power it back up it shows the default iMac colour matched wallpaper… is that the same for you? Thanks

I need to record videos for packages I’m offering to clients online. I have not had an Apple computer before. Are you saying this computer’s camera/microphone/editing is good enough to record my videos (up to 30 mins or so)? Or do you recommend an additional external camera for this type of work? I love mine, but I also use it with a Caldigit TS3+ dock and another 28" monitor.

Definitely going to save up for one at max price might take some time but seems worth it (Im also learning swift for IOS development) and I don't own a Mac device so seems worth it

Can you make video on how it look and work out connected to XDR display second monitor? I want the silver color.

I got the same set up except the 2tb, I just added a 1tb ssd. Do you think this will be good enough or should I return it and wait for the MacBook Pro in November

I finally got my iMac the entry level model in blue and I LOVE the design. I want the thin computer with the chin and the white bezel. The chin with the pastel colour gives the computer style and makes it clear that it is an Apple design. I am happy there is no Apple logo on the chin. If I want the Apple logo on the computer I can put the sticker on the base of the stand. The white bezel is far better than the black from a design aesthetic. The black bezel would draw the eye to it and become a feature, whereas the white bezel blends with the screen and pastel colours and compliments the minimal theme.

How bright is the screen? I find my screen or maybe it’s the glass makes me frown really hard. I don’t have this issue with my iPad Pro 2017. Does anybody know what the difference is between the iMac late 2015 and the iPad Pro 2017?

^You are the first one who says that the display it have different colours than the 5k iMac. I bought it 2 days ago and i realise from beginning that de display is inferior to 5k , and i not meaning about resolution but about black levels and vibrant colors. It also have very bad viewing angles compare with 5k iMac. All of this is because they put a anti reflecting coating, different and inferior to iMac 5k. I’m very disappointed about the 24 iMac display, if i knew about this i wouldn’t buy it !

Thank you, Justin, good exposé. I agree the silver is the easiest on the eye and most practical (especially for any colour work, like design, etc-you don't want a colour frame next to the screen, it can change one's perception of the screen colours after a while, and lead to design work subtly harmonising with that chin colour). At my age (in my 60s), I'm not a fan of very pale grey keyboard letters on white keys. (My washing machine has dark grey type on a black background-low contrast seems to be a trend in tech!-I have to get my iPhone torch out every time I do the washing!). I'll have to check that keyboard out in person. I think Apple forgets that not all Apple users are 14! Yes, the chin is a bit weird and useless looking, even though the computer is in there. And a black bezel would have been nice on the silver. I agree, ditch the chin and make the computer a bit thicker. Apple has had a bad case of anorexia for a number of years now!

Actually buying a monitor with similar specs and a base Mac mini with keyboard and mouse would be about the same info less. And that's with Apples LG 24" Ultrfine at $699 monitor.

Guys, any ideas/suggestions? My Late 2013 iMac became extremely slow after I upgraded the OS system (currently Catalina 10.15.7) and "Mail" also became unbearable. What would you recommend please?

My only gripe with the iMac is the speakers are not very loud. My MacBook Pro has way more volume.

Remember guys - this is coming from a guy who owns a $6 000 computer display , but still uses a $1600 computer.

No sd card reader? Get a usb stick with a usb-c attachment. Not enough storage? Get a portable ssd drive. No hdmi, usb-A, sd reader ports? Get a clip on hub. Can't raise the imac to your height? Put something under it like a computer booster shelf to raise it higher or the wall mount that they sell. All of your complaints have easy fixes.

I honestly like the fact that there is no Apple logo on the front. When you use an iPhone or iPad, there is no Apple logo but on the back. Most people don't need to have it rubbed in their face. I kind of hope that on the MacBook line, they take the "MacBook Pro"/"MacBook Air" text off of the bottom display bezel.

gonna skip this version, i use bose computer speakers and the cable sticking out the side of the screen was a ugly design choice and doesnt work with my dual monitor setup.

Hi Justin. I'm actually disappointed with my iMac. I got the upgraded version but only 8gigs of RAM. However, I've noticed I constantly have been running out of application memory. Never seen this before on my Mac Air's and old iMac. Others have the same problem. Very disappointing .

Definitely a good review! Tho the chin was kept for a reason, the whole motherboard is inside of it lol

2:36 finally someone who talked about the No Apple Logo 🍎 on the front! Thats the only thing stopping me from getting this. It looks like a cheap Microsoft or windows pc. 👀 A little black, grey or those clear silver ones in the front chin wouldve looked sooo darn gd. Aargh.

I spent 3300 on this computer I got the max specs tho ( mouse , smart mouse keyboard 2tb etc ) max out I hope it’s worth it otherwise ima be pissed lol 😂
